Hi, I have a Denon DHT500SD AV System connected to a JVC plasma. Just
setting the whole thing up but can't seem to get TV or Video from the VCR.
I've connected the Denon with the plasma by component cable, the TV signal
is coming in to the VCR, then scart to the denon. Have I missed something?
Can get sound from the TV and Video. DVD works great both sound and
pictures.
TIA
Vince

Unless the denon has upsampling then the output type must match the input.
What I mean is if the video is composite output then you need composite
input on the plasma.
You can't plug s-video for instance into the amp and then expect a component
signal output.
If it is a normal vhs vcr the best output you can expect is composite!

You should be able to route the composite through the Denon, I think - at
least looking at the specs on the Denon site.

Cheers - set that up now, got TV/VCR through composite directly connected to
the Plasma. DVD comes in by component cable. Problem is as it's connected
directly I can't use the Home Cinema with the TV or VRC - just the crappy
inbuilt speakers on the plasma.

You'll need an extra connection of composite video, since that's the only
signal the video will output.

signal the video will output.

So you mean if I'm connecting the VCR to the Denon by scart I can't use the
component cable to play back the output? What's the best cable I can use?
TIA
