Stains on clothes after washing. Appears to possibly be oil residue. Is there a rubber seal or part that may be leaking inside the drum?

This could be a couple of things
1....oil from the transmission.
this is not common so lets leave this one
2.....the use of fabric softener causes greasy marks on clothing after a while
Fabric softener reacts with soap and can form a greasy jell. it can be yellow oily color or black.
You will know if you have been using fabric softener.
Stop using it straight away.
To clean oty the machine if it were mine I would put a packet of epson salts in with hot water and let the comp[lete cycly go.
Foe awhile use the machine with caution as this may release build up of grease which can stain further clothing until it is all gone.
The make and model of the washer is needed for an accurate diagnosis.

I have a washer that is leaving residue on my clothes

If the residue is rusty/dirty/metallic it may mean the drum bearing is breaking up. Reach inside, grab the drum and see if it rotates roughly or has excessive movement. There may be residue leaking on the floor denoting the drum seal/bearing is shot.

Leaves oil on clothes

The description of your issue focuses on the motor and or the pump.
1. there be residual lubricant in the pump or the hot water inlet valve or the moter of the washer has lubricant coming up thru the seals of the rotation spindal or shaft and is being mixed with the wash or rinse water and then the spin cycle settles the oil in the clothes.
This is the explanation but to remedy this will require full service of the washer.
1. resealing the washer drum
2. check and replace the pump
3. check a replace the seals on the inlet vavles.

My washing machine is leaving little residue on all my clothes after a complete wash, What are they? and how do you get rid of it, the washing machine is not yet a year old

Describe the residue. If it's oily (black, dk green) then the seal is out of the tranny and oil is getting into the tub. Dry cleaning is best for oil based stains. Liquid dish detergent is good also. On white it is tough to remove. Your washer will need a new transmission or replacing.

If it is powdery I'd guess a soap buildup, especially if you've recently changed detergents. The new detergent is breaking up the old soap scum in the outer drum and it is redepositing onto your clothes. This should wash out/off.
Tip: If it's a soap residue, fill washer full without clothes with hot water. Add 1 gallon white vinegar and more hot water until the unit if as full as possible. Agitate 15 minutes and drain. Rinse with a full level and drain.

Clothes coming out with stains they didn't have - looks like oil/grease

Front load greasy residue ,

Due usually to much detergent in each load, use smaller amounts.
To much detergent degrades the rubber seals and gaskets and rubber seal also in some front loaders around the door too!

Over the life of a front loading washer the seal/gasket degrades
largely due to the chemicals in the detergent as well as bleach.

Most gaskets/seals get hard and brittle therefore the over the life of a front loading washer
the seal/gasket degrades largely due to the chemicals in the detergent as well as bleach.

....please rate this ....thanks

Your bearings may be going.. does it make a racket as it spins too.. bearings come as sealed units, when they break down oil leaks, hence the stains.

It will only get worse so have it sorted to save your washing.

Old washing machine is starting to leave grey streaks on clothing

hmmm..let's see..sounds like you have some residue accumulating from something possibly seeping into the tub. That can be old rubber, a metal sheath, or even an leak of lubricant. Like an old car, there are parts of every mechanical device that need to be attended to.

I'd recommend you find the most seasoned person that works on older machines, to come by and assess what is 'leaking' on your clothing. Grey comes from something metallic or rubber/plastic.

Hope you can solve this one, and keep that old machine happy.

Machine stains all my clothes

no not any filter this will more then likely bearings leaking grease that is packed into it just c if your inner drum moves up or down by placing your hand on the outer part of the inner door and place your fingers on the inner drum now lift your fingers up if it does move then your bearings are starting to collapse which is quite an exspensive job average price £125.00 to replace the bearings but if this washer is still under guarantee then get them out and thats what the stain comes from and it will alwys do it also if it doesnt move it can still be a bearing problem that its just leaking through the rubber seal and the bearings are fine eva way it comes frim the bearings m8

Stains on clothing

Usually black oily stains are a symptom of a rear main drum bearing starting to go bad. The seal goes bad first and the packing grease will start to weep out as water gets into the bearings. Is the washer starting to get loud during any spin cycle? If so, I think your bearing is starting to go. It's not a cheap fix, either. The whole back shell of the outer wash tub has to be replaced because the bearings are molded into the plastic. I hope this is helpful in some way.
