Hi there.

1. If, when you push the start button, you here the DVD drive make its start noise, and you here the MAC startup sound/chord but with no display, you may be lucky and just need the screen replaced. This can be checked by connecting the laptop to an external monitor. If the external monitor displays the laptop's screen normally, you've found the problem

2. After #1, things pretty much get more serious. There's a strong possibility that your video/graphics controller/card which is soldered to the logic board could very well be dead, and for that you have to send away to have that card replaced, or install a new motherboard.

I hope that #1 solves your issue.

Best Wishes

Samsung N145 Plus battery charge failure

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Acer Aspire One Netbook ZG5 will not turn on

you should be able to press ESC to exit hibernation, or remove the battery, remove the plug, press and hold the power button for 60 sec, and reinsert battery and power and turn on. when restarted, right click on desktop, click properties, and click the screen aver tab, click the power button, click advanced, and remove the check box beside enable hibernation on the "Hibernation" tab. it shouldn't do it again

Mac Ibook Power supply problem

On Mac iBooks the orange light comes on when it charges the battery. Once the battery is charged it turns green. Im guessing the other powersupply was aftermarket or broken. EIther way, if it starts out green - recognizes the battery isnt full - turns orange for a while - then turns green when the battery is full, then the computer and powersupply are working perfectly. Enjoy your iBook!

Camera won't turn on.

Make sure the battery contacts are clean. The rechargable batteries looses their charge even when they are not in use. It is important to fully charge the first time the rechargable batteries.

Latitude C640 is dead!!

Hi,

I have the exact same issue. It's not the processor. If you have you power supply tested, you will probably find that it's not working anymore. The green light still comes on when plugged in, but it's not sending the "charge" to the notebook.

I have this issue with a couple of C640's. I've tested the machine by charging the battery in another (Pentium 3 Dell C600), then putting it back into the broken machine... woohoo it works.

Unfortunately I can't figure out why the power supply's keep on busting, I don't think that the power-supplies are faulty, or maybe they just get old, don't know, but the most obvious problem is probably something with the mainboard, which really sux.

Hope this helps,
