Question about Sony Alpha DSLR-A300 Digital Camera
Make sure the battery is fully charged. A slightly low or bad battery can lock up the camera menus. Also make sure the battery terminals and camera contacts are clean (you can clean them with alcohol and a qtip, or pencil eraser). Try taking the battery out, and pressing the on button when you insert it- sometimes that will clear the cpu.
Another thing that might be going on is that a ribbon connector between the menu buttons and the main board could be slightly loose, and need resetting. This requires taking the camera apart, so unless you're very mechanically minded, it's better left to a repair facility.
Good luck to you, and hope this helps.
