Question about Achiever 260T Flash

Open Question

Can't get Achiever 260T flashes to fire with cord or slave.

I was given 2 Achiever 260T flashes when I bought some camera equipment privately. I have a Canon 50 D and didn't expect them to work on it but I can't even get them to fire from extension or a slave. They look like they were never used and work great when pressing the test button. My old Vision-lux works fine. Do they need a older cable? The ones I have seem to fit but no fire. Help.

Check the voltage trigger of the flash, if you're under 7vdc. Then you are good to go.

Canon 580exii speedlight, I want to only use the slaves, but they won't fire when I turn off the master

You didn't say what camera model you are using.
If you have 7D/60D/T4i you can have a total of 3 wireless ir flashes.

580EX II must be set at Master, say Group A & Channel 1
Two 270EX II must be set at Slave, say Group A & Channel 1
or
One 270EX II set at Group A & Channel 1
Second 270EX II set Group A & Channel 2

Then go into camera menu & turn off Master flash & turn settings for those two flashes.

Send me a email, then I can help you much better.

Sony a100 match ups

Yes, when Sony took over Konica Minolta they inherited the Maxxum lens mount (Minolta's AF lens mount system). the only Minolta lenses which don't work are the earlier manual focus type.

Sony have finally launched three new models which are the first to be clearly Sony designed, but they have still retained the Maxxum lens mounting.

I can't figure out how to use my SB800 off camera with the D80 in command mode.

You can purchase a simple hot shoe mount slave or a pc corded slave. Do you know what a slave is? Most cameras have a flip flash on the camera. You can use this to fire your off camera flash. Most flip flashes are so low in power as compared to your SB800 that the flip flash will cause very little exposure effect to the image. Now there are things to consider, such as if you are outside in bright light a slave has more trouble detecting a flash. If you are indoors you need to at least have the off camera falsh localised to the flip flash and the slave in direct view of the flash. Some slaves are more sensitive than others. the great thing is with digital you can experiment all you want. Back in the day using film was costly, a lot of bracketing and guessing and time consuming. Why do you want the flash off the camera? What is your subject? I have usually found a bounce card on the flash or off a ceiling or wall effective for people. If you are lighting an indoor scene it is understandable to use off camera lighting.

AC Slave Flash - How make it works

A slave flash unit is a flash that has a sensor that fires the flash when it senses the burst of flash from the camera's built-in flash unit. Since many digital cameras fire the flash twice for each picture (the first is to set white balance and perhaps focus), these units are designed so they fire when the camera's second flash goes off.

To use it with your D60, just use your built in flash to fire off the slave flash...

Novatron 240 Flash Kit

First you need to isolate the problem by doing some troubleshooting.
1) try a known good sync cord to determine if the problem is the sync cord and not the power pack.
2) try a known good sync cord with a known good camera to determine that the problem is not in the camera.
3) try your camera with a different power pack to confirm your camera is triggering the power pack OK.
These steps will isolate the source of the problem.

Synv Flash to camera with no hotshoe

Buy a small slave unit that attatches to the flash bottom.  Use the pop up flash on your camera set to the lowest power.  The slave unit will detect your cameras flash and fire the flash with the slave unit at the same time.  I am doing this with this same flash myself with fairly nice results.

Flash stopped workin as master in wireless mode?

Hi Joelgue,

Now, go to a real camera store and bring your equipments with you.

Say to them:

I have a Canon 580EX Flash and wanted to know if you have the Quantum Turbo Battery with the Adapter Cord for my 580EX?

Ask to see if you can test them out.

This adapter does not go into the 4AA battery hold but to the flip out cover, AC Adapter. You need to plug it into the flash.

Press "On" from the Q battery, then set flash to "Master" on camera and other EX to "Slave".

Turn all three on(1st flash, 2nd flash and camera.

Do not press shutter button but press the pre-flash(pre-auto lock/flash) on camera body. On the EOS-1Ds Mark III has "*".

Both flashes should come on.

Now, press the camera shutter using "ETTL Modes" and look at the image from the LCD screen...is exposure correct?

Address to this address from now, please: atdlee@netzero.com

PS: You did set both flashes into same channel and with no exposure adjustment, right?
