How to align bonoculars

Cheaper binoculars may have no adjustment means for this at all (it is called "collimation"). Properly it should be done by adjusting the front lens in its seat, and quality binoculars have an eccentric ring around the lens under the clamp ring so that can be done.

Your Tasco probably does not have that, so look under the covering material on the barrels (it may be stuck down) for 2 small screws over the prism eg

Gross collimation can be done in daylight, but fine adjustment is best done with a point source like a star.

Make your check payable to ABO (USA), INC.
  • New policy of ABO (USA) does not cover the parts, defects caused by improper handling, installation, maintenance, abnormal use, alteration, wear and tear or accident. You will be advised of the additional cost prior to any repair.

Ebay is a great place to look for a quick manual replacement. If you would like one from Tasco, try contacting customer service @ http://www.tasco.com/pages/contact-us/
You can also access a few general manuals online @ http://www.tasco.com/pages/instruction-manuals/

My center focus binocular gives a double image that is out of alignment when looking at objects. How can this be fixed?

They are out of collimation, probably because one of the prisms has shifted a bit. This is usually caused by them taking a knock. Fixing them, if it can be done at all, is a skilled job, and Tascos are replaceable for less than the cost of repair, unless you can get it done under warranty (they would probably just send you new ones).

Zoom lens loose in tasco binoculars

Best to take this to a repair agent as there are inherent problems in trying to fix these by yourself. Main one being zoom registration between both sides of the binocular.

I need a users manual for tasco galaxsee 46-060675

Do you need a users manual to ASSEMBLE the scope? Or are you looking for how to USE the scope.

This is a very small 60mm refractor on an equatorial mount. Not much bigger than a pair of 10x50mm binoculars. The binoculars would have been better for sky observing! The euitorial mount must be polar aligned with the star Polaris before it will work properly. We never recommend equitorial mounts to beginners for this reason.

Please read my TIPS in my profile page to learn how to polar align the scope, and what you can do to improve the scope.

If you need a manual for assembly you will not find one for Tasco BUT Meade has a similar scope. They all assemble in the same way. Here is the Meade Manual:

BINOCULAR ALIGNMENT

Up close to the eyepieces under the material that covers the binocs. You have to peel away at the material to get to them, or look for the splice in the material which is very hard to see.
