Question about Panasonic CT-27SX11 27" TV

1 Answer

Fixing Tilt Today I decided to fix the tilted picture on my Panasonic CT-27SX11 TV. I took the back off, adjusted the yoke so that the picture would be straight. Then I had difficulty getting the case back together. Finally I did and proceeded to turn the set on. The picture was extremely dark and I could not see the setup menu, because all the boxes were black, No text was present or I could not see it, If could get into the menu or reset the set somehow, I'd be in business. Unless I disturbed something when I took it apart. Help!! Please help!!

Thanks. It was the screen voltage adjustment, located just under the focus adjustment. I think I kind of panicked at first. Then I realized that I may have struck an adjustment. I used to work on these things, but it has been such a long time and everything now is IC, digital or something else. Thanks so much for your help.

What is cost of yoke for panasonic ct tv?

You're discussing about the width problem to picture. If yoke have a short in between its wingdings [even a single winding short], will cause the failure of horizontal output transistor. As per you report here, the set has a raster, but problem is with the picture width.
There possibliliites for this fault are.
1. Lack of voltage from the SMPS power supply output.
2. Horizontal width capacitor.
3. Horizontal output capacitor.
Check the output voltage from the SMPS section first, and confirm that it is OK.

the slugs have nothing to do with tilt; unless a tilt setting in main menu bonded yoke has no adjustments for this issue.

Picture is slightly tilted

Its an easy adjustment but it requires you to work around the deflection yoke on the neck of the picture tube. Above the yoke is a red connector that is carrying 30,000 volts then on the yoke itself you have wires that are connected to the horizontal and vertical circuits that can carry up to a 1200 volt pulse. So this alignment is not for anyone but a technician. I personally would leave the tilt until you can have a technician touch it up for you. Take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

I had the same problem. Sometimes the processor gets overheated, particularly when dealing with high definition signals. Unplug the television from the power strip or wall outlet and it should reset everything. When you plug it back in it should work. Not a long-term solution, I know, but it will get your TV working again.

Top half of picture blanked off. Bottom half does not indicate any deflection problems.

the problem is in your deflection coil, the other half had been shorted probably.

check for a bad solder at the the tuner section or within the tuner . Bad solder ground within the tuner can cause this fault
