Think I have it all connected correctly, but there is no sound

Hello Sir, Hi try to check the usual, like mute? or is the cable good? check the menu if the unit is on mute. or use another cable. you can check the unit by simply listening to the speakers soft HUM. this HUM should be present, the hum is most loudest at full volume (even if there's no music). A missing hum means two things, you have the speakers not connected or open (burnt). or you have problems with the unit. please check them both. let me know your progress.

Humming noise coming from receiver, repair or replace

Humming noise is usually a sign of a roving fan and this humming noise comes when the fan is moving with difficulty all you have to do is get a repair personnel to service the unit and is not enough to get the unit replaced.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Hi, I have a Yamaha RX-V596 that all of a sudden developed a hum throughout ALL speakers, it is coming from the receiver. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks, Adam

reconnect all wires (make sure are placed in correctly) and make your connection with wires kind of tight (no druppy wires if extra coil it up) between devices....your receiver should have small wire hanging this is the antenna and the other wire should be grounded...and should take care of the humm....

feel free to rate the help

How do I stop the hum coming from my surround sound speakers

You have a ground loop, most probably. Try grounding your receiver by running a copper wire to the screw on the electrical outlet.

Subwoofer hum from STR-DH800

That points pretty much to a bad shield on the cable. Have you tried another one? Another thing to try is to rotate the AC power cord on the sub (if it has one). Sorry, too lazy to look it up.

Pioneer Receiver SX-750: Getting a loud hum through the speakers

The hum you hear from the speakers and from the unit itself originate with 60hz AC power. They may not actually be related. Sometimes a transformer will hum slightly and unnoticeably. That you're getting a loud speaker hum says there is an electrical leak or a grounding issue somewhere.

Do all sources produce the hum or, say, just the phono? How about on headphones? Try rotating the AC plug. In those days they weren't keyed with one large blade as they are now.

My stereo receive hums annoyingly when I use my record turntable.

Just a suggestion, make sure the power outlet/s is grounded and that the polarity on both plugs are correct.

Humming noise

Usually Humming noises come from frequency interferance.  In this case it is being caused by your input sources.  A smiply solution is to replace the cables and or seperate the source cables away from any electircal cords or sources.
