The multiple equation solver is no longer on the TI-89, it just disappeared! How can I redownload it to my calculator?

Just open the Y= equation editor and enter your equation. Use X for T. Make sure the angle unit is in radians.

Most probable that you are not using the correct syntax.

Press MATH, then scroll down to reach the SOLVER line. Press ENTER. Create the equation, using the ALPHA keyboard to type in letter symbols.

Press ENTER. The screen that opens displays the equation and a list of the variable present in your equation. Each letter (variable) must have a value, except the unknown. If there is a 0 after the = sign on the same line as the unknown, you must clear it so as to leave a blank.

Specify the lower bound and the upper bound to speed up the search.

Once finished press [ALPHA][ENTER] to execute the (SOLVER)

Press [math] [0] to put the calculator into equation solver. Then you input your equation in 0 = format. So, the equation x/3 - 1/5 = 4/3 would be input as 0 = x/3 - 1/5 - 4/3 . Then press [enter] .

There is nothing for directly solving cubics, but the general purpose Solver() function can be used for this. For example, given the cubic x^3+x^2=125 with a guess at a root at 4, Solver(x^3+x^2=125,x,4) will produce an answer of about 4.64. Full details are in the manual in the "Equation Solving" chapter.

This notation indicates an “arbitrary integer” that represents any integer. When an arbitrary integer occurs multiple times in the same session, each occurrence is numbered consecutively. After it reaches 255, arbitrary integer consecutive numbering restarts at @n0.
