Question about Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED Film Scanner
I have a new 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor iMac Snow Leopard. It does not work with my Nikon Coolscan 9000. The Nikon program shuts off when I open it.'So then I went to Silverfast to try it as a patch between Nikon scanner and iMac. The Silverfast demo was good (64bit) but when I downloaded the real program, it was only 48bit so slides were soft. Is Nikon going to upgrade the software to work with new iMacs Snow Leopard 10.6+ ?
You're not going to be happy with this answer:
Nikon has formally sworn off doing ANY future software updates for their scanners. They stopped at 10.4 (pre-Leopard)
Yes, there are a LOT of people VERY unhappy with this answer, but we're all kind of stuck with it.
