We can't seem to make the wifi signal a secure password protected network. The option to do so is greyed out on screen. If you turn the radio signal off (killing the whole point of wifi) then you can set a password. How can we fix this?

Can't get internet on galaxy five without wifi

When you're at home, you're connected to your own wifi for which you have entered the password into your phone at some point. If you're away from home, you would need to be either connected to an open wifi network (not password protected) or have the password to any wifi hotspots your phone sees. Go into your wifi settings and see what networks are available. You will see a signal strength indicator next to each wifi network name, and also an icon that indicates whether the network is secured or not. If you tap on any of the networks, the open ones should allow you to connect, and the secured ones will ask you for the password. Your phone can't automatically connect to any secured networks unless it has the password. For any networks that don't require a password, you may still need to tap that network in your wifi list so your phone knows you want to connect to it, and your phone will then connect to it automatically whenever you're nearby, unless you're already connected to a stronger wifi network.

Ipod will not connect to wifi

Connect to WiFi for Your Apple iPod touch b> The iPod touch has the ability to connect to Wi-Fi networks, giving you access to information while on the go. The iPod detects both protected and unprotected networks, and can remember which Wi-Fi networks you have used before, eliminating the need to enter passwords more than once. Your iPod touch should automatically detect wireless networks, but you can also manually connect to a network or switch to a new one.

Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen and tap the "Wi-Fi" button. Tap the "On/Off" button to turn your Wi-Fi on. Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen. Tap the Safari Web Browser application or any other application that requires Internet access. A list will automatically open on your screen that names all available networks. Tap the network you wish to use from the list. The networks listed are all wireless networks detected by the iPod. Protected networks will have lock icons to the right of their names. Enter the password if the network you have selected is protected. Your iPod touch will store this password for future use. Type in the name of the network you wish to use if it is not listed. A network that is set to not broadcast will not show up on the list of available networks. Check the top left of the screen for the Wi-Fi icon to be sure you have connected. The number of bars on the icon indicates the strength of the signal. b> Manually Connect Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen and tap the "Wi-Fi" button. Tap the "On/Off" button to turn your Wi-Fi on. Tap a network listed under "Choose a Network..." The networks listed are all wireless networks detected by the iPod. Protected networks will have lock icons to the right of their names. Enter the password if the network you have selected is protected. Your iPod touch will store this password for future use. Type in the name of the network you wish to use if it is not listed. A network set not to broadcast will not show up on the list of available networks. Check the top left of the screen for the Wi-Fi icon to be sure you have connected. The number of bars on the icon indicates the strength of the signal.

I cannot connect internet using my dsi xl but i have a wifi connection in mya house

go to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings area within the game, then pick one of the network "slots" so your game will remember how you've configured it.You'll have a couple of different connection options at that point, but the easiest is to let the Nintendo DS unit do all the work: choose "Search for an Access Point":
nintendo-ds-wifi-connection.pngNow, hopefully, you'll be able to see your wireless network (or perhaps more than one). The easiest to work with is an open network, which is indicated as a blue padlock that's open. There are also red padlocks (if your system uses WEP protection) and grey padlocks (which are bad news: the Nintendo DS can't work with the security system on that particular unit, probably WPA security).
nintendo-ds-padlock-icons.pngIf you have an open network, just click "OK" and it should work just fine! If it's a red padlock, it'll prompt you for a password: you'll need to know the password of the wireless access point you're using to get past that. If it's grey, well, try finding an open network somewhere else you can use.

What i need to do to connect my psp for internet

You will need a wireless router in order to connect the PSP to the internet
  • With your Psp turned on go to the "Settings" in the menu (scroll to the left)
  • Scroll all the way down until you have reached "Network Settings" and click the "X" button to enter
  • Select "Infrastructure Mode" and hit "X"
  • Select "New Connection" and hit the X button again
  • Now you will have a number of options for connecting to a wireless connection. Choose "Scan" and press the control pad to the left, the PSP will now scan for wifi signals around your area
  • When the PSP finishes scanning you will probably have a few different wifi connections. SSID is the name of the connection, the Security column tells you whether or not the connection is password protected, and the last one is the signal strength the higher the better
  • If you want to borrow your neighbors unprotected wifi select a connection with "None" in the security column and a strong signal. If you want to use a secure wifi than you will need to know the password. Select one and press the X button
  • Now the Psp will confirm your settings proceed by pressing left on the d-pad and save your settings
  • Now test your connection if you are able to connect, awesome. If you were not able to connect try doing the settings again
  • With the connection settings in place we can now connect the PSP to the internet. In the home menu scroll all the to the left until you have reached "Network" and go down to "Internet Browser" and hit "X"
  • Your browser will appear, select the little square box to enter the web address, play around with the different options. Have fun with your PSP online

How to go wireless on laptop

You need three things
1) An Internet service provider. Once you sign up and agree to pay the fee they will provide the internet service.
2) A wireless router. This is a unit that receives your internet service by through a connection to your telephone line. Then it transmits a radio signal (wireless signal) that your laptop can receive.
3) A Wifi card in your laptop or an external USB Wifi Dongle. This is a radio or wireless receiver that picks up the signal from your router.
The router is usually security protected with a keycode. All you need to do is set up your Wifi card or dongle with the same keycode and you will be able to receive the internet wirelessly.
To check to see whether your laptop has a Wifi card already installed, do the following:
Click Start>Programs>Accessories>Communications>Network Connections> and look for "Wireless Network Connection." If you have this, then your computer has a Wifi card installed and ready to go.
