Hi! Have you tried connecting the turntable to a mixer going to the song cube? The song cube may not support the audio output if the turntable is connected directly without using an audio mixer. Please try it and write back on the progress. Hope this helps and have a good one!

If the cube have multiple input lines...change the channel ..maybe this one requires a preamplifier signal ...so ...choose any of the regular stereo channel...not necessary the aux...even cd in ..or so ...another thing ...make sure the volume is up from both devices...cause usually the out put from one is controlled from the receiver ..and after that the signal is controlled from the amplifier ...so both will count when you try to make it loud..

This unit only has aux in & line out for connecting music from another audio source.
    A usb port.
    Digital out & headphone.
Manual says it can record Cds, mp3s & phono.
So it doesn't make sense to me.

I was talking about the inlet of the amplifier box...if it has more than one kinda inlets...Almost all amplifiers and speakers with amplifiers built in ..had more than one inlet ...usually named CD in....tv in...aux...or for more complicated..3rca ...in for surround ..
From what you said I understood that you referred on the signal source ..
I was talking about changing the inlet on the Brookstone ...cause the one that you inserted in may be not an amplified one ....or the signal from the vinyl player is too week ...I mean the preamplifier in the SL7 may have something wrong ...anyway try to get signal from the headphones out of the sl7 and get it into the amplifier if this way is not working ...The Idea is that you need a strong enough signal to insert into the amplifier in order to have a sound...The exit you used from the SL7 may not be the one that it is supposed to use....Look if it has others ..or use the headphone one ..cause that one is amplified for sure ..and the signal will be stronger ..JUst use a cable with a 3.5 jack in one and to get signal ..and a RCA in the other if this is the only inlet available in the box..

How to connect speakers to A technic SL7 TURNTABLE RECORDPLAYER

The turntable goes into a Phono preamp in a amp or receiver then the amp or receiver will have the terminals for the speakers. The Turntable by itself can not drive speakers. It is a part of a stereo system.

Hi there, i just bought 2 Technics mkii

well" for a start, they need to go into a phono socket, this amplifies them.
i take it you bought 2 decks with the intentions of mixing, so you gonna need a mixer.
MIXER & DECKS SET UP:
1.decks into phono channels 1&2
2. black GROUND wires, go to GND screw on back of mixer
3. RCA master / booth Outputs on mixer to AUX / LINE-IN on amp.(not phono)

How to connect a technics turntable sl7 wiring diagram

There is just the Left(white wire) Right(red wire) and a black ground cable. Make sure you are using the PHONO input, or the sound will be very low and distorted. Distorted sound on Technics SL-1200/1210

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

Not a good sound

you can't...the technics need to be pluged into phono..because the signal has to be amplified for it to play...phono channels on amps and dj mixers have an amp built in....
