Question about Pioneer DEH-2000MP MP3 CD AM/FM Car Stereo Head CD Player

3 Answers

I just installed a Pioneer 12E unit in my 2001 Chevy Suburban. I used the Scosche GMDA wiring adapter. Everything works but the sound. A friend suggested that GM has an internal amp that must be excited for it to work. What's the trick?

Response may have been right on the money; but not clear to me.

  • jss1960 Aug 01, 2010

I don't wish to add another amp. I want to power up the stock amp. All indications are that there is a pink wire that should be spliced into a switched pos. or the power ant wire. Problem: no pink wire in factory harness.
    Thanks, S.S.

Do you have a second orange wire in the harness? If so that is the one used in place of the pink one

  • jss1960 Aug 01, 2010

I have no pink wire. the only wire i cant tell what does is purple. I spliced it into a switched pos and it still doesnt work. the 25 amp fuse is good too. Next?

  • jss1960 Aug 01, 2010

I didn't see the bottom part. I'll try the orange wire. Thanks, S.S.

When installing a car audio system, you can use one or more subwoofers with the amplifier. If you want to use a single subwooferI just installed a Pioneer - mag-glass_10x10.gif with the amplifier, you can bridge the connection to get more sound. Bridging a subwoofer with a Pioneer car audio system is the process of sending more power to the subwoofer from a single amplifier. You can do this by properly wiring the subwoofer to the Pioneer amplifier.Locate the speaker connections or terminals on the back of the Pioneer amplifier. If you have a two-channel amplifier, there are four terminals. Each channel has a positive and negative terminal.

  • Step 2.Cut 1/2 inch from both ends of a speaker wire with wire cutter. Connect one end of a speaker wire to the positive terminal, for Channel 1, on the amplifier, by pressing the tab on the positive terminal and then inserting the speaker wire into the opening.
  • Step 3.Connect the other end of the speaker wire to the positive terminal on the subwoofer. Press the tab on the positive terminal and then insert the speaker wire into the opening.

    • Cut 1/2 inch from both ends of a second speaker wire with the wire cutter. Connect one end the speaker wire to the negative terminal, for Channel 2, on the amplifier. Connect the other end of the speaker wire to the negative terminal on the subwoofer.

    • Step 5Turn on the car's ignition. Power on the car stereo and turn on the amplifier.

    • Step 6Turn on the radio or play a CD to determine if the bridged subwoofer is working with the Pioneer amplifier. If you can hear sound from the subwoofer, it is working correctly.

    • Step 7Repeat this process to bridge a second subwoofer with another amplifier.

    • Those are the steps to follow.

Unplug all wires and plug them back on ...do not power it until all wires are in place ...During this ..pay attention on the exit wires for the speakers...maybe you did not plug them in the right place ..and according with the output diagram you have ...Im referring that it may have a for example in the settings a 2+1 ...and you wired a 2 stereo ...

I was actually suggested that the wiring for the output audio signal is not proper made...or made in a wrong way ...cause if you have access on the settings it is obvious that you did connect the power in the right way ...so the issue has to be the audio output ..

Can't fit subwoofer amp leads to pioneer DEH-2000MP Head unit

pioneer head units only distribute like 200 rms or so to the speakers. you might have to find a blue maybe even blue with white striped wire and nick it just enough to tie your amp wire around it. tape it up and see if it works.

    No sound from speakers

did you check to make sure your vehicle didnt come with a factory amp, if it has one is it turning on? or did you remember to disconnect the negative battery cable while installing your radio, i know thats a dumb question, once i was installing a pioneer a barely crossed a couple wires and fried the radio, the radio itself worked fine and all the features etc, but it never did play sound again. i always disconnect the power now!!
