Question about Hayward Sp2607x10 Super 1 Hp Swimming Pool Pump
First I find it interesting you know the pump is using twice as much electricity. Did you measure the current with an amp meter? or are you looking at your bill. If you're reading an amp meter, then how does it compare to the Full load amps on the name plate. If it less than or equal to the full load ,then there is no problem with the pump. The motor will be hot on a hot day and running 24/7. A pump will draw more current when it does more work(pumping more water) Is it possible you have either cleaned the filter, allowing the pump to pump more water? Have you changed the discharge jets to a larger size? While any of these would drop pressure, it will increase the load on the pump. Have you selected a combination of suction from skimmer & main drain, where you previously only used one? Just a few ideas. Good Luck!
