Question about Computers & Internet

IWIIL Main Board XP 333- Have been playing on & off with this MB for about 2 yrs tryiing to get it to work. #1 No video at all...Tried using 2 diferent AGP cards and a PCI card;totally blank screen. #2 Tried putting driver disk and Windows XP disk and Win XP emergency start up disk. The drives don't even spin up, although during power on I DO get "working lights" on DVD & CD and Floppy drives. I've checked the jumper setting umerous times, changed the memory as well. Any ideas? The only thing I can think of it a defective board and I doubt it's still under warranty. Thank you George Danchik

I think you have a defective board. The only other thing I can think of to try is flashing the bios. I've seen that bring dead boards back to life occasionally. Don't think you have anything to lose at this point...

No color I can't change rider or horse

The bulletted list contains the system requirements from Valusoft on this game:
  • Operating System: Windows® 98/Me/XP
If you are running win XP, then you probably meet the OS, Processor, and RAM specs.
  • DirectX®: 9.0
To find your version of direct x, click run and type dxdiag in the command box. The Direct X version is on the main page of the Direct X diagnostics page.
  • Processor: Pentium® III 700 MHz or 100% compatible (Recommended: Pentium III 1 GHz or higher.)
  • RAM: 128 MB (256 MB Recommended)
  • Hard Drive Space: 500 MB Free
  • Drives: 8x CD-ROM
If you are running Win 98 or Me, right click my computer and click on properties. The general tab of the system properties will tell you the CPU, Operating system, and RAM. (Almost all CD-ROM drives fit this minimum spec.)
  • Video Cards: 32 MB DirectX compliant video card (Recommended: 64 MB DirectX compliant video card), DriectX compliant sound card.
To find your video adapter, go to:
Start/control panel/system and on the hardware tab click device manager. Then click the + sign next to display adapter. Please report back what under display adapter.
(if it says Intel, Sis, or VIA, you have onboard graphics and the game will not work) You will need an upgraded video adapter to play the game.

OptiPlex GX270 mini tower

Remove the 256mb memory and insert the 512mb memory in slot1 and see whether it works. Please note that the memory needs to be in pairs.

I think the GX260 is mini tower has two different moles
1) PC3200 compatible with memory - 184 Pin DDR3200 400MHz

2) PC2700 compatible with memory -184 Pin DDR2700 333MHz

Please enter the service tag on dell.com and find the manual and the right memory for your PC

All the best!

Hi,
Ok best thing to try, which will quickly solve your problem would be to go here

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srl

Then Click where it says : "Find out if you can run
that game on your PC"

Look in the drop down list and select The Sims 2 Double Deluxe PC game. Then Click on the "Can You Run it" Button.

It wiil then Scan your System & Build a detailed profile of Hardware & Software installed, and will inform you of what software or hardware is/is not compatable with the game you want to play.

I have a Pentium 4 3ghz Processor, 1GB Ram, Direct X 9.0c, Win XP SP3 installed & after running a test to see if my Machine would handle The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, it passed on all areas except Video Card. & This is what it informed me :

Video Card
Minimum: A T&L-capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM. ATI Radeon series 8500 or better, NVIDIA GeForce series GeForce2 GTS and better

You Have: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset)

Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card

 Video RAM: Required - 32 MB , You have - 128 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - No
