does it have built in wifi.. do you have wifi there?..when on you home screen push the function key and the wifi button.. an indicator should light up..

Did they install correctly in device manger? HP downloads can be exe's and have to be run instead of updating. Does this make sense?

Plug your mini into an external monitor and see if the screen is the way it is suppose to be...if so then you lcd screen needs replacement.
If it does not look normal...then replace the backlight/inverter

Your battery sounds like it's dead. How old is it? It might be time for a new one.

when you tur on , then set system restore/

Click on Start, select Control Panel, go to Internet Options, click on the Advanced tab and at the bottom of the Advanced tab screen click Reset.... Check the box to delete personal Settings and then click Reset. Hope that helps.
