Question about V, Inc. VIZIO RP56 Rear Projection Television
Vizio RP56 (6 yrs old): After about 1/2 hour watching tV, the screen begins flickering, and shapes of people, etc are "outlined" like lightening.. hard to explain
The video board is compromised The reason it takes some time to occur is a heat factor, Once the tranistors that control the picture reach critical temperature they become unstable. The flickering is actually drop out too quick for the eye A halo effect is produced as it tries to redraw the picture at the given line rate, there are light gaps that form this halo effect.
Six years is a long time in todays TV world most start doing this around 2 -3 years just after warranty has expired. Plot? yes I think so given the number we see on here. It can be fixed if you cease to try running it as it will get worse the longer you leave it Estimated cost $2-300
Please rate my helop++++Thanks for using Fixya
