Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM or COPPER solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again

My Whitlpool Gold fridge GDSSHG is leaking water inside when the ice maker fills. Seems to be running down the back behind the metal backing and into the Bottom of fridge. Freezes there and then when that...

2 possible issues: 1st and most likely, water valve got stuck in open position - you need to shut water at the back of Your fridge and get new water valve. 2nd seen only couple times: when ice maker stuck in position when its calling for water, so valve opened all the time. As I said water valve 90% of a chance is bad. Hope that helps.

Why does my GE model number TBX1811 refrigerator leak from the back inside the fridge

Water leaking inside it
  1. Check the lines to your dispenser
If the lines to your dispenser are broken or damaged you will need to replace them.
  1. Damaged drain pan
If your drain pan has holes or cracks it will also need to be replaced.
  1. Clogged drain
If you experience any clogged drains, they must also be unclogged or replace. If you experience this at the ceiling of your unit it can be attributed to a clog in the freezer section. Remove the divider and let the insulation thaw out and dry.

I have purchase carrier ac 1.5 ton in may 2011, bt from last 10 days i m continously having a problem of water leakage from inddo unit. pls help me

Hello, usually the unit will leak if the condensate line is clogged or the condensate pan is cracked. If you have a wet/dry vac attach it to the outlet of the drain line and the vacuum will unclog the line. However, if this does not help than the condensate line is cracked and will need to be replaced or sealed.

My handler is leaking. The drip pan has a little water in it, I see a slow drip outside during operation. Near the blower water is coming out of one of the air ducts.

Hello, most likely you have a clogged condensate drain or a cracked or leaking condensate pan. First use a wet/dry vac on the outlet of the drain line, this will usually unclog the line. If the line appears to be clean then the pan will have to be replaced.

Condensation water is leaking out of the bottom of the unit on all sides

Hello, usually a clogged condensate line or cracked condensate pan will cause this. try using a wet/dry if you have one to unclog the drain by attaching the hose to the end of the condensate line, the line will be made of PVC pipe. if this does not help than the condensate pan under the evaporator coil is cracked and will have to be replaced. in some cases if your unit uses a condensate pump that could be the problem aswell if it;s clogged or not pumping.

Leaking please help. I need to order a new one that is 120v 60hz 15w s-86

My experience if I understand when you say "Leaking" Is that into the inside bottom of fridge?>
If so on auto-defrost(frostfree) frdge. the tube in back outside &attached to the freezer is cloged and wont allow condensation to disperse into the pan below therefor it leakes to the inside instead. Try unclogging by pouring Verry Hot water into back of freezer{inside}.

I have a Frigidaire model number FRT18G4AWA refrigerator that leaks water from the top of the refrigerator part and has trouble keeping cold.

Hi,

Make Sure Your Fridge is Properly Sealed
One of the most common causes of a "leaking" fridge isn't a leak at all. It's the direct result of your fridge not sealing properly, and as a result running overtime to keep things cool. A fridge that runs excessively will build up extra condensation on the coils, which in turn can lead to the pool of water on the floor that's causing alarm. Check the rubber door seals on your fridge and freezer to make sure you're getting a proper seal. If you find a problem, wash the seals with warm water and soap and apply a thin film of lubricant (petroleum jelly works best). If this doesn't solve your problem, you may need to replace the gaskets. Also, check the adjustable legs on your fridge and make sure the fridge tilts a little to the rear. If it's leaning even a little bit forward, a proper door seal can be compromised.

Check the Drain Pan
Your leaking refrigerator may just have a cracked or damaged drain pan. Your fridge regularly drains water into this pan to prevent water pooling in the fridge itself. Evaporation takes care of the rest. Look underneath your fridge where the drain pan sits and pull it out for inspection. If it has a crack or is otherwise damaged, contact the appropriate retailer about getting a replacement as soon as possible.

Check the Defrost Drain
If your leaking refrigerator is draining inside as opposed to onto your floor, you're probably dealing with a clogged defrost drain. Your fridge is constantly producing condensation inside the freezer, and that condensation drips down the defrost drain into a drain pan underneath the unit. This defrost drain can become clogged with debris or, more often, it freezes shut. Look in your refrigerator manual to locate your defrost drain, and take the appropriate steps to unclog it (inundating your drain with warm water will often do the trick).

Check Your Ice Maker for Leaks
If none of these other quick fixes solve your problem, check your icemaker for leaks. It's a bit unusual, but sometimes the water line to the icemaker fails or comes loose, letting water into your freezer. Try tightening all connections, and if necessary, replacing the line that feeds the icemaker.

Hope this helpout....

Our Maytag MTB1976HRW leaks water under the crisper drawer. The drain has stopped up before but if this is the problem how do we solve this without having to call a repair person?

Hello,

Open the freezer compartment...
Locate screws on the back wall (from inside freezer compartment)
unscrew and open the back panel.
You will see a hole at the bottom which is the drain hole.
if you feel ice there... then that's the reason... the clog wont let water drain out and it accumulates at the bottom after a few days it leaks out of the fridge.

I used a hair dryer to unclog that hole and within minutes I could see water on the drying pan located below the fridge (which previously was dry)
Hope this helpout......

Water leaks inside the frig. ive been told that there is a simple solution to correct and it may have to do with the defrost not draining properly.

under the evaporator coils (in the freezer), there is a drain that goes to a condensate pan under the fridge. if this is clogged, unclog it. if it is just condensation in the fridge, check your door seals.

Water leaking from freezer into fridge

there are several things to check for. The condensing defrost tray under the fridge can crack or develop a hole and leak onto the floor. A door gasket not closing properly may cause sweating and leak onto the floor. Some fridge's have a humidity switch inside the fridge that should be turned on to prevent sweating on the center bar between the fridge and freezer section. If your fridge has developed a frost free failure problem, often the frost will travel down the suction line at the back of the fridge and drip water on the floor. The heat exchangertubing can separate and also sweat and drip on the floor. A kit to repair a separated heat exchanger line, comes with instructions as well. Ice maker and chilled water fill lines can crack and leak as well, this is fairly common with the plastic lines as they can dry out and crack.
