Question about Campbell Hausfeld 1,350 Psi Electric Pressure Washer With Auto Detail Kit #PW1350

1 Answer

I have a C/H mod. PW1380- worked trouble free for many years, however, today, hooked up, powered up, worked fine until I released trigger, would not restart unless I shut off water supply while squezzing trigger, then unit would pressure down, motor would start, turn water pressure back up. As long as I repeated this process, unit performs fine. I cleaned/removed inline water screen, checked and backwashed hose and other parts. I also removed the pressure hose from unit and allowed the water to flush through with and without motor running. Manuel doesn't offer to much help, any ideas? Thanks, Bud

Bud The internal seals have blown just enough to cause this to malfunction, whilst it is only a small cost for the seals themselves the overall cost is $200 to repair as it has to be tested and servicd as a company policy ( just had my own done for the same reason)

It is not DIY as the tech showed me some of the pitfalls in self attempted fix and I am glad i didn't fiddle. The case is easily broken if you dont know how to open it and that;s just for starters.

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

Have same unit with similar problem. Take wand apart and clean valve. Then take motor and pump out of case. It's held in by two plastic holders. Locate micro switch on side of pump,it's a white plastic box with wire leads going to it. It's basically an on/off switch. Make sure plunger inside it goes in and out as you operate the wand. If the pump stops and doesn't restart get a small screwdriver and push in the switch, the plunger isn't pulling it in all the way. Provided the off/on switch tests good you can solve the travel problem by putting a small o ring on the plunger rod. It worked for me.

Pull the trigger, no nail, only continuos air until I release tyhe trigger. not jammed, gun is clean, very new. acted that way right out of the box then it worked and then not and so on, worked...

Safety foot and lever inside of trigger are not pushing the trigger pin all the way in. To verifty that the gun will fire, remove the nails to allow for dry fire. Remove the trigger to reveal the trigger valve. Hold the gun against old coiled rubber hose or soft wood. Very quickly depress the trigger pin all the way in. If the gun fires, adjust safety foot and trigger so that the trigger pin is fully depressed when your bump fire. If the gun will not fire after adjustment, remove the head and lube headvalve/orings with silicone paste lube.

Kew Alto Force X-TRA cold water supply pressure sensor problem

Have the same p-washer (5-6 years old) and the same problem. Opened it and the pressure switch is the crook. A plastic pin has an inner and an outer spring on it (two consentric springs). The smaller inner spring is completely rusted away so the switch no longer operates correctly. Obviously the spring was of a too low quality. The service office say a new switch cost around 400NOK (50 euros) - so the washer is too expensive to mend. But I will try to get it working without the inner spring. Doubt if I succed. So will have to dump the washer.

I purchased the Wagner power tex and loved it, recently it doesn?t spray with the ease as it did when I bought, I haven?t used it a lot only to do fill in?s, seems like it only releases the texture once...

Your sprayer is self powered? you don't use a separate compressor? I have one with a compressor and it has to be taken apart " the gun" everytime or the trigger becomes stiff. If it's self powered, I would say your mixture is too stiff and water and it should be fine..If not and if it's self powered, then your motor may not work properly.

1993 lumina stalling

Free things to try: Take it to Auto Zone or some auto parts store and they can check the battery, alternator, and hook the thing to their computer to look for trouble codes for you.

Things you have to pay for: Take it to the auto shop and have them check the timing, spark plugs, and they can translate the trouble codes into language you understand.

Lack of pressure after releasing the trigger on the wand

Hello awcockerill:
This sounds like the bypass (unloader) valve is sticking. Here is a diagram of your machine's pump. On page 2.4 see part #1. The top of this assembly is a black plastic cover. Remove all of assembly # 1 carefully. Under that is part #8. This is the bypass valve. You need to pull this out, check that the o-rings are not bent, worn or damaged, then lube it good with a VERY VERY good waterproof grease. Re-assemble it and all should be well. The part numbers are on the diagram but where to get them depends on were you live. Karcher web site may give you a number to call. Good luck.
