SOURCE: Whirlpool Dryer Model#GEQ9800LW0 will not get hot

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

If I may add with the indulgence of trystakarm, other components that may and can cause this fault could be:

  • thermal fuse, once off would have to be replaced;
  • thermal cutoff, automatically resets itself when temp goes down;
  • relay, that actually does the switching on/off of the heater element;
  • logic controller board, that controls the relay based on triggers from other sensors.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

SOURCE: whirlpool dryer not blowing hot air

The element is at the bottom of the unit. Usually they are located on the right bottom but when you take the housing off, you will be able to see it.

to put it kindly depending on way you connected wires unit could be damaged,replace pigtail with three wire and outlet to original.outlet wires should be black,red and white. turn breaker off attach white to middle and red,black to sides,"either side is fine".Attach dryer pigtail in same manner with white on white and if plug in and turn breaker on.If there is no operation at this point dryer possibly damaged from previous wiring.Just remember be safe when working with electrical and ask before trying to change things that aren't the same.

Sounds like one of the cavity switches is bad. Open back of dryer, you will see wires that attach to little clip next to each other. Try jumping wire from one side to the other, do one switch at a time and try dryer to see if heats, if you get heat replace that switch. These switches burn out if dryer gets to hot, usually from to much lint in duct work. Also vacuum out duct work in wall and on back of dryer.

SOURCE: Whirlpool electric dryer LER4634PQ0 blows

There is a chance that the heating element is grounding out on the cabinet it may even be intact but still grounding out on the cabinet or element can.you will nee to check all the wiring harness and make sure there is not wire that are fused to gether causing a direct short.

Pull the dryer away from the wall, disconnect it electrically and remove the vent hose (4" diameter hose clamp) and fish out the components that have made their way down the wrong location

This is what I believe to be your problem, but as always, check your breakler first to make sure it hasn't tripped.

I have a whirlpool model# Ler4634pq0 electric dryer. Heats ok, takes 3 cycles to dry clothes. Cleaned vent hose, cleaned internal duct system, cleaned lent screen, and holes inside drum. Any ideas?

If you 've done all of that and it still doesn't dry properly, you may have a faulty limit switch. These limits switches are usually down by the burner assembly and not much bigger than a quarter with generally 2 wires going to them. Very easy to replace once you find it. Unplug the dryer before you work on it.

I have a Whirlpool electric dryer Model #LER4634PQ0 and for the life of me cannot figure out what heating element that I need to buy for it. Please help before I lose my mind.

Call your parts house and give them the model number. They can tell you exactly which one to buy. Are you sure its the heating element? I ask because there are several things that can prevent it from heating. I dont want you to waste money changing parts.
