You need to make sure that youre trying to connect to the right network or network name and you need to enter the network key if the wireless network is secured. if cant remember the network key you need to access the router page and on the wireless setting you can obtain the network key, you can also personalize the network name and network key and the security as well for you to remember easily

Thanks for using Fixya

SOURCE: my ipod touch wont connenct to the internet

Go to Start>Run and type 'http://192.168.10.1', a logon screen appears. User name is: motorola, Password is: admin. A webpage appears which is the router control panel. Now you can talk to your router. If you are using cable broadband then use DHCP, for DSL use PPPoE. All of your Basic, LAN, Wireless, Status, Gaming, Security and Firmware updates are here. For more info and manuals/downloads for your router go here:

SOURCE: my ipod touch wont connect to my buffalo router

Try a different kind of wireless encryption on your router. This will probably fix it. If your password is wep, try wpa. If it's wpa, try wep. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about.....let me know :)

SOURCE: Can't connect my router to my Ipod touch?

ok do this if it is already showing your router up on your portable device but it has that security lock and you are unable to join or need a password which u dont know lol go to that network and on the top push forget this network. than go back and click on for other location. than for the name put in your router name usually 5 characters long make sure u use capitalization cuz its case sensitive. than select what kind of key u have it should say right on the side of your wireless router. than type the key in usually a wep key and u should be set to join it if it doesnt auto matically do soo

How to Unlock Addresses on your iPod Wi-Fi

The iPod touch has a built-in wireless network adapter that allows you to join Wi-Fi networks; however, in some cases the wireless access point to implement a Wi-Fi network can be configured to an iPod touch join the network. You can configure the access point so that it no longer blocks the iPod from the wireless network.

1. Tap "Settings," then "General" on the iPod touch. Touch "About" then scroll down to "Wi-Fi address." Make a note of the 12-digit hexadecimal number listed under that title, which is the address of Medium Access Control encoded in iPod.

2. Connect your computer to a numbered port on the back of the wireless router using an Ethernet cable.

3. Log on to the computer.

4. Start a Web browser on your computer. Directly to the router's configuration utility. The tool is listening on a specific web address that depends on the router. For example, if your router is a Linksys WRT54GS, navigate to the address "192.168.1.1".

5. Open the configuration menu for the MAC address filtering. For example, in a WRT54GS, click on "Wireless" then "Wireless MAC Filter".

6. Remove the iPod's MAC address in the list of prohibitions aimed at the router's configuration utility. For example, in a WRT54GS, click "Edit MAC Filter List". A new window will appear. Double-click the field that the iPod has the MAC address, then press "Backspace" to make the contents of the field. Click "Save Settings". The window is closed. Click "Save Settings" in the main browser window. At this point, your router will be configured for iPod touch for the network.
I HAVE AN IPOD TOUCH, BUT I CANNOT CONNECT throughh my trendnet. IT READS UNABLE TO JOIN THE NETWORK "TREDnet what can i do to get wifi connection. thanks

Depending on the version of your router (you can determine the version from the Trendnet support web site), there may be a firmware update for your router that will resolve the issue that prevents your iPod Touch from connecting to it.
There has also been discussions that simply reseting the router by disconnecting the power cord for a minute or so can allow an iPod Touch to successfully associate with a flakey router.

I cannot connect my ipod touch to my router how do i connect it?

First you'll need to turn on your Wi-Fi.

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then (turn WiFi on)
2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new network: Choose (WiFi) and turn (Ask to Join Networks) ON or OFF.

Then you'll need to join a WiFi network (your D-Link for instance)

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then wait until your D-Link shows up in the list of networks.
2. Select your network and if you have a password for your router make sure you type it. (networks that require a password have a lock icon next to it) then tap (join)

Once you join a WiFi network manually, iPod touch will automatically connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPod touch joins the one last used.

When iPod touch is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.

Good Luck

I try to join my network no lock nothing it will have full bars perfect signal and yet it says 'Unable to join the network ''linksys''. word for word

Your WiFi router may be configured to not allow your iPod Touch to connect to it. This is done by specifying a list of "MAC addresses" that can connect to the router.
