Whirlpool Duet washer, during the wash cycle, get H F error code

I have a Whirlpool Duet washer, during the wash cycle, the water level gets much higher than normal, then the H/F code flashing and the washer stops. I can then switch it to rinse/spin cycle, more water comes in then stops with H/F code again. I can then switch to drain/spin cycle to complete the load. What is wrong, please help.

The problem turns out to be a small hole on the rubber hose connecting to the water pressure switch. The hole which is about 18" down from the pressure switch, was caused by the hose rubbing against the drum (must be a pretty common problem). The problem can be fixed in three ways: first open the top of the washer by removing three screws on the back and then slide the top backward to remove.
    1. Cut the hose where you find the hole, reconnect the two pieces with a small tubing of the appropriate diameter. You need to be creative to find the right tubing. Tie a string to the bottom part of the hose before cutting it or else you will have a hard time later if it drops down to the floor.
    2. Using a 4" long shrinkable tubing that can be slide into the rubber hose. Remove the hose from the pressure switch, slide the shrinkable tubing over the hole, heat the tubing with a heat gun and keep on rotating the hose. Reconnect the hose to the switch.
    3. Replace the rubber hose with a new one. I think you can get a replacement vacuum hose from any auto part store instead of waiting to order a new part.

Oh one more thing, reroute the rubber hose behind the the white drain hose and tie it down to avoid repeated problem in the future.

Thanks so much!! After many tries of running diagnostics, we could not pinpoint the problem. I knew it was something simple, we checked and the siphen hose was rubbed out. My husband replaced it with a hose from his fishing aerator for live bait. Who would have thought?! After a week, our machine is as good as new! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F/H means no water was detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. It can also happen if the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. You’ll need to Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Whirlpool front loader duet hd washer gets stuck in the wash cycle with the error code of F02. What is F02 mean?

Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8 minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill with water and not sensing that water has drained).

To clear out the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar, remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob counter-clockwise to remove the filter.

Rl on the control panel

The "rl" (remove load) error code appears when you are running the "Clean Washericon1.png" cycle. You must not have a load of clothes in the washer during this cycle. Remove the clothes from the drum, and restart the cycle. The "Sud" error indicates that the detergent is over-sudsing. The Duet washer automatically combats this by reducing the amount of suds in the washing machine. Let the washer finish the suds-reduction steps. Use less detergent during the next wash cycle.

Above is your service manual, look in the area of the NTC sensor,it needs to be replaced, the service manual will show you how.

You need to replace the ntc sensor, most likely.

F/05 Water Temperature Sensor Error
If during the water heating step in wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, or the heating element circuit has failed, the "F/05" error code will be displayed.
  • Check the Water Temperature Sensor, Heating Element and Element Relay
  • Check connections to the Sensor, Heating Element and Relay

I would assume that you are using HE detergent if not the pump could go into a suds lock. You may have a bad drain pump. The other options could be possibly a bad central control unit. (however these are very expensive) or possibly a door lock issue but usually you will get a door lock error.

HI. this code represents a Long Drain issue.

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
• Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

My whirlpool duet front load washing machine stops in mid cycle

F21 = LONG DRAIN ERROR

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valves turn off. After 4 minutes the “Sd” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F21 error code will be displayed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear.

Procedure:

1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
5. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
6. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
7. Replace the pump.

Alternative Procedure:

If the machine cannot be forced to its diagnostic mode then:

1. Disconnect the washer from the power supply and water supply.
2. Remove the top panel by taking out the three screws in the back of the washer. The pressure switch is right on top.
3. Remove the Molex connector from the water level switch / pressure switch.
Refer to the picture below.
4. Reconnect the power supply but not the water supply.
5. Power the machine. The machine will enter diagnostic mode.
6. Power off the machine.
7. Replace the water level switch / pressure switch.
8. Reconnect the water supply.
9. Power on the machine it will work without error

Washer stops during begginning of cycle with F 35 reading .

F35 is a water level error.
The water level switch (pressure switch) has malfunctioned.

If you remove the top panel, three screws in the back, you will have access to the pressure switch.

With the tub empty, remove the vinyl hose from the switch and blow backwards through the hose to clear any restrictions.

If the fault codes return after doing this, you will likely need to replace the pressure switch.

Also - please be sure to use He soap.
