Just had a similar problem with my Frigidaire FDB834RFS0 model. Dishes were not getting clean. Noticed some detergent still remaining in the dispenser after completing a wash cycle. Checked the water level during several cycles and noticed it was barely visible in the bottom of the tub. Decided to remove the water supply valve and solenoid to check it, thinking I would probably have to buy another one. Took it apart and found there is a mesh water strainer on the inlet side that was full of bits of junk. Cleaned it out and decided to reinstall to see if it made a difference. Noticed immediately when starting the next cycle that I could hear the water gushing into the tub. The water level rose significantly and the result was clean dishes and no left over detergent in the dispenser.

Check for correct water pressure to the dishwasher. Could be a restriction in the 1/4" water supply line.

Water do not seem to enter the washer. i sart it it maakes sound as if it is working but the soap compartment does not empty

If the dishwasher is dry without any water droplets anywhere then you are right no water is coming into the unit.
First check the angle stop and make sure it is on.
Second check for kinks on the water supply lines.
Third make sure that the water supply line is not clogged.

If the dishwasher is wet and the soap dispenser is close then the trigger mechanism is not working.
If the above sentence is true and you don't use a rinse solution or tablet don't worry you can put the soap directly into the washer.Good Luck

No water in spray arms

Since water is recirculated during the cycles, there is most likely a filter of some kind in the water path and that is probably clogged with debris.
Go to the Sears parts dept. and enter your make and model to see if they have your machine listed in their library. If so, there will be a line drawing of the machine so you can locate where the filter is located and possibly reorder from that same page. Sears carries or supplies parts for about every make and model.

There is no water going into the dishwasher.

The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. First Check to see if the valve is getting water. Make sure it’s not clogged. There is a screen on the inside of the valve, this sometimes gets clogged up with debris. Check to see if you get power to valve when unit is put into operation may take a couple minutes to start a fill. If you have power and it’s not clogged up replace the valve .If you have no power to the water inlet valve check float switch. This can be done by checking the continuity. There is a video of this at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you checking the water inlet valve and the float switch. It may be a different model but the testing procedure will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for most models.

you may have a water problem. if you dump a bucket of water in the tub after it starts wash cycle and the extra water makes it work. check you line pressure and if thats good replace your water inlet valve.

The engine is running but no water is coming in and it is not going thru cycles

First check the water supply line going to the dishwasher, begin at the shut off valve, shut water off, remove supply line from valve by unscrewing the fitting, open the valve just slightly to check water flow there(have a container of some sort to run approx.1/2 gallon or so of water into it)just to flush the valve out of any debris or material build up.
Then if all seems good there, then go to the valve fitting on the dishwasher and remove the water supply line from that and repeat the flush out process we went through previously at the shut off valve, make sure there isn't a build up of junk in the inlet valve on the dishwasher, they sometimes get calcium and sand, etc., built up in them and that will block the incoming water, clean all above.
If your water supply is good then could be the dishwasher inlet valve has failed and will need to be replaced or the dishwasher control timer could be bad,may need a service tech to troubleshoot the rest of the stuff.
Good luck !

I have frigidaire dishwasher, starts cycle, can hear water entering dishwasher, checked level of water, does not get to 1",machine starts washing by the sound of motor, but dishes are not clean, water drains...

Depending on your dishwasher, it fills either by a timer or by a water probe or float. I will assume its a timer as a probe or float wouldnt exhibit this behaviour. I would say you have a restriction in your water supply line. Check your valves, any screen filter in the water line for sand/scale/silicate/etc, pressure regulator if applicable. Another posibility is a poor magnet in your fill valve.

DISHWASHER WONT DRAIN

Have you checked the drain hose??? It may be clogged to some degree or where it meets either the garbage disposal or t-tailpiece, whichever you have, or where it comes out of the water pump. Also, the impeller inside the water pump might look good but may be worn, and check for broken glass which is hard to see in the bottom drain area at the grate. Hope this helps.
