IF you can boot into SAFE MODE ( F8 on boot) try this guide, you may have virus/malware infection http://www.fixya.com/support/r5272277-secure_clean_computers

If you cant manage this, its either a repair instalation if you have a windows disk ( google repair installation ) a system recovery with a recovery/restore disk, if you dont have either you are going to need to obtain a copy of Windows and do a clean install

My gx60 isn't bootin up..it says loading project..how do I fix this

From your photo, it looks like windows XP has fully loaded. I would assume the "Loading Project" is from a program, not windows. I would boot up in safe mode and try to do a system restore to when your computer was working. Here's how to boot up in safe mode:
* Press F8 key repeatedly while booting up, right before windows begins to load up. Black screen with white letters usually.
* You should get a few options. Select boot in safe mode with networking.
* once XP loads, Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.

My cat stepped on the keyboard and the screen went black, I don ot know what keys she pressed

try rebooting the computer and as soon as it begins to start up (before the windows screen shows) tap repeatedly on the "F8" key on the top of your keyboard. when a boot menu appears choose "safe mode" when the computer loads you will have the window default settings and you should see your screen. If this works simply reboot the computer and it will load to normal mode. If this does not work let me know and I will attempt to help you further

Actually Its a Operating system problem. What you need is to boot from a Windows Vista or Windows 7 disk.
1. Boot up using windows 7 disk and you will be getting windows is loading files roadfox_60.jpg
2. Select the keyboard layout
roadfox_61.jpg

3. Keep on hitting next until you will be getting this screen. Choose Startup Repair. Then keep on hitting next until the computer prompts you to restart. If all things fails repeat steps 1 to 3 choose System restore this time.

I have a dell Inspirion 530. When I turn on my computer this black screen comes up.At the top says windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem. 1....

I think the system files of windows might be affected. Looking at the support.dell.com website it's eigther you have windows vista or windows XP as your operating system

what you can do is Startup Repair, System Restore

1. To do this you have to boot your computer to the Windows Vista disk
.At the bottom says "Windows is loading files...."The Windows Setup environment will continue to load

2. At this screen you should configure the Language to install, Time and currency format, and Keyboard or input method options so that they are set correctly. When done, press the Next button. You will now be at the main Windows Vista setup screen where you would normally install Vista on to a computer.

3. Click Repair your Computer and keep on hitting next until you get the menuroadfox_18.jpg
4. Choose Starup Repair First Keep on hittng next until computer restarts.

5. If it fails repeat steps 1 to 4 and choose System Restore

6. System restore will prompt you choose a date. I suggest to choose a date within a week when the computer's setting is up and running

Hope This helps

After loading the laptop, the screen goes black showing only a white mouse cursor that you are able to move. Even tried loading in safe modes but the page still doesn't load.

Please restart the computer in safe mode and check if that is loading. If safe mode loads well, then run system restore (Steps depend on the windows version you have) and restore your computer to a earlier date (say 1 or 2 days earlier) when you know that your computer was working fine.

If you cannot login to safe mode then we might have to do a manual registry restore
Please use the link to know more about it. If you are going to use the step, please keep a printout handy of the instructions.

For XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545
(follow the manual steps)

For Vista & Windows 7
Boot from OS DVD and run startup repair.

Starting problem

Immediately after seeing the Dell logo, keep tapping the 'F8' key,
until you see a "menu" (white text over a black background)
giving "startup" options for Windows XP.

Select "Safe Mode" and see if you can start in that mode.
Then, use "System Restore" to go "back" in time, to the most-recent checkpoint (date/time) where your computer _DID_ work.

Restore to that point, and restart.

Help please - Asus IS7 board, downloaded a chipset driver - should'nt have, since then computer starts, might go through to windows, might not, then computer goes to what seems to be half power, fans...

Restart your computer.
Press F8 repeatedly until the Windows "boot menu" (black-and-white) is visible.
Select "Safe Mode".
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click System
Click Hardware
Click Device Manager
Expand each branch of the hardware-tree, and remove all the components installed by that "chipset-driver".
Keep doing them all, and then restart your computer.
Windows should re-detect your hardware, and load the correct drivers.

If that fails:
Restart your computer.
Press F8 repeatedly until the Windows "boot menu" (black-and-white) is visible.
Select "Safe Mode".
Click Start and navigate to "System Restore".
Choose a check-point dated at a date/time before your screw-up.
Choose "restore" to that date/time.
Follow the on-screen directions.
