Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. When the picture alternately goes from normal to a black screen, it is an indication of an intermitten signal issue. You can attempt to reset the receiver box by unplugging it from the power for 10 seconds and letting it reboot. Hopefully this will resolve your issue.

My dish Vip722k dual keeps resetting! My dish vip722 keeps on rebooting every day, starting on May 23rd.

This sounds like there is an issue with the power to the 722K. Really, the only step that MAY fix this issue is to do a hard reset. Basically unplug the receiver from the wall outlet for 10-15 seconds and plug it back into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. If you have done this and this is still happening, the issue is the receiver itself and your best option would be to get a replacement for it.

Dish Network Remote Codes? Can't seem to get the few I have to work the dish remote

If your remote is a learning remote (has a little black glossy square on the top left side of the remote) you don't need a code, you just need the original remote. Place both remotes on a table, or other flat, sturdy surface, with the original TV remote facing the square on the DISH remote. Make sure both remotes have functioning batteries. On the DISH remote, hold down TV until the button blinks three times, then hold down record (for 5+ seconds) until the TV button lights up and stays on. Then, slowly, for each key you want to use, hit the key on the DISH remote (TV light blinks) then the corresponding key on the original remote (TV light blinks). For example: DISH Volume Up, TV remote Volume Up. When you are done learning all the keys you want to train, hit SAT. The TV light will blink three times, then the SAT light will light up for a moment. Try the DISH remote on your TV functions.

Since you did not mention model number, then depending on year, it is probably time to replace the TV. They are almost disposable these days; meaning cheaper to replace than to repair.

MY dish remote is installed with the dish receiver. My dish remote though is not changing the channels. I already changed the batteries and it turned out to not be that. So what do I do?

Tierra_bush,

It's possible the remote may just need to be readdressed to the receiver. I've listed the steps below:

Addressing remote
1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Try the remote and see if it is working.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top light up then release.
    4. While SAT is blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press # (Different from number listed)
    5. Press record 3 times and the number should change, try the remote and see if you can change channels.

    1 Answer

My IR Remote 103602 is not working. I recently bought a universal remote controller. What code should I input in order to control the Dish Network receiver? (just like controlling a TV or VCR). Thanks.

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Servicehere. I came across your post recently and wanted to see if I could help. Weunfortunately do not have any codes in order to get your TV remote to controlthe DISH Network receiver. If your DISH Network remote is no longer functioningproperly we do have a few different trouble shooting steps that you can try inorder to get the remote working again. You will want to first replace thebatteries in the remote just to make sure that is not the issue. If you havealready replaced the batteries and the remote is still not working you willwant to press the SAT mode button to make sure that it is still lighting upred. If the SAT mode light is still lighting up you are probably going to needreaddress the remote to the receiver but if it is no longer lighting up you mayneed a replacement remote. I will list here for you the instruction foraddressing your remote to your receiver box. In the case that the remote iseither not working after all trouble shooting or the mode lights are no longerlighting up please email me at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com with your accountinfo so that I can get a replacement remote sent to you. I hope you find thisinformation useful and if you have any other questions or concerns feel free toemail me anytime. :)
Steps for readdressing the remote to the receiver
    1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or you can press the power button once then the channel up button once on the front of the DISH receiver box.
    2. Once you are in the system info screen you will see either remote address or primary remote address(TV1) and secondary remote address(TV2)
    3. Hold down the SAT button on the remote until all mode lights light up.
    4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the little white square.
    5. Press the pound (#) button
    6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 4 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

You do no need to reinsert your smart card until you have addressed your remote completely.
    2. Once you are in the system info screen you should see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2).
    3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
    4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.(Make sure to change the remote address to a different number then what is listed in the white box).
