My LG washer had an LE error message - that went away but it occasionally will turn on (power up) for no reason for a few minutes (and beep) then turn off later.

LE indicates a fault with the motor on the appliance.

LG suggest you switch off, wait for a minute, unplug the appliance.

Wait 15 minutes then plug it back in again.

Try the machine again.

If it's still faulty, you can try changing the Hall Sensor in the motor, this can sometimes cure the problem.

Unplug the machine and remove the rear cover. There are 4 Philips head screws. Take them out and remove the rear cover.

You should now see the rear of the motor, which is mounted to the back of the drum.

In the middle is a large bolt which holds the stator cover.

You'll need a 17mm socket and a ratchet to remove this bolt.

Remove the stator cover and place aside.

Toward the bottom-left, you will see a couple of wire bunches held to the motor by three screws. One holds a metal bracket, one actually holds a ground wire, and the last is through a plastic bracket toward the bottom. Remove these three screws and don't lose them.

Through the motor there are 6 bolts holding it onto the back of the drum assembly.

You'll need a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove them.

You will now have the motor off the back of the drum.

Disconnect the two wire harnesses from the motor.

Looking at the surface of this motor that was facing the DRUM (not the outside), you'll see two small pieces clipped onto it, toward the bottom.

The sensor you are looking to replace is the one that looks like a kitchen magnet.

It is attached by small clips. You'll see how it goes on. It's easy to remove.

Go to google and search for part number 6501KW2002A.

This will bring up an LG sensor assembly.

Double check with the supplier that this is the sensor for your appliance.

When you receive the sensor, simply reverse steps 1 through 5.

Once re assembled, try the machine again.

If still the same after this you'll need to replace the motor and/or control board.

LG WASHER LE CODE

Fix for Error Code "LE" on LG Front Load Washing Machine
I just had an interesting experience with our LG washing machine today. I found some hints for the solution online buried in some user forums, but I thought posting my particular solution here in a less cluttered blog might make it easier to find.
I had just run a load of laundry, emptied the machine, and reloaded. I put the detergent in and started the machine. After sitting for about 2 minutes with no activity, a "LE" error message appeared.
While the online forums indicated this might be a problem with a sensor, I was able to solve the problem by doing the following:
1. Press the Power button
2. Manually rotate the hopper 4 times clockwise and 4 times counter-clockwise.
3. Press the power button and run the machine normally.
Don't know if this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. If I keep getting the error message, I'll have to call LG and find out about this sensor I was reading about.

My clothes were in the washer and when I went down to check there was an error code. LE The clothes were still wet, and appeared to not have gone through the rinse cycle.

The LE is caused by over sudsing OR clothing trapped between the tubs. The LE: hall sensor shorted/destroyed from sudslock or clothes between tub. Correct the issue and party on.

LG errors:
IE: Water level (246) was not reached in 8 minutes
UE: Imbalance: Load too, small too large
OE: Drain problem took longer than 10 minutes to drain
FE: Overflow issue drain pump running to comp
PE: pressure sensor (sensor out)
dE: door error. open door. switch is out
LE (with a a slash in the
middle of L. Upside down F) Thermistor out
CE: Over amping Too much soap wrong soap
LE: hall sensor shorted/destroyed from sudslock
bE: Ball sensor loose connection/out of order
EE: eeprom out test mode only
PF: power failure momentary interuption of shocktricity

LG washer WM 2277HW Wont spin LE on control panel

LG error codes:

FE: Overflow issue drain pump running to comp

PF: power failure momentary interruption of shocktricity

LG washer notes:
Problem:
An occasional LE error but always a slow or no spin.
Solution:
A Red wire going to the Hall sensor was intermittent. You can test this from the main board connector down to the connector on the hall sensor by checking continuity. There is an intermediate connector down by the motor/hall sensor so you can isolate the problem even more. Problem was in the short wire harness that connects directly to the motor and hall sensor. Could not find the open point of the wire so added a new red wire and integrated it into the harness.

Washer starts then after few minutes stops and beeps with LE flashing. What does this mean?

LE = Load Error. If you do not have an unusually heavy or unbalanced load, replace the HALL sensor on the motor. Remove back access panel, remove bolt from center of motor. Remove rotor. Remove bolts holding motor coils to machine. Unplug wires. Un-clip sensor, replace with new sensor, and re-assemble. This is a rather easy repair.

I'm getting the error message LE which says motor overload. I've read some comments on line that people have drained the water unplugged the machine for a couple of hours and the error message went away...

Hello,

LE code stands for locked motor error. When this error code appears in your front load washer it indicates a fault in the motor unit.

1 . Check the connections to the Coil/Stator at the rear of the unit possibly it should be something like a broken wire.

2 . Coil/Stator Assembly will be defective preventing the drive to operate. You should go for a replacement of that assembly.

Thanks

LE error message when washing. Drum will not spin

This is usually a communication error, unplug the machine for 20 minutes and then see if it returns when power is restored.
but if this does not helps then the actual reason of LE error code is as follows:--

LE LOCKED MOTOR ERROR

• The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY.

• The electric contact between the connectors (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS and 4-pin, female, white connector in the MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is bad or unstable.

• The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (open circuited).

• The hall sensor is out of order/defective.

The hall sensor seems to be part of the motor.
The 'LE' error message indicates the control board has detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the hall effect sensor board which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a problem between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be stopped.

Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor, or even the hall effect sensor failing or dislodging from it's mount. Any one or more of these components could have caused this error.

LE error

In case you are sure that the washer is not full of suds or overloaded a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause the error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, dislodged ball sensor. Try first to reset the control unit by unplugging washer power cable for few minutes. Good Luck !
