This happens if some foreign object is inserted /stuck in the IO port (the round one) especially if the foreign object is a piece of lead (in fact graphite) from a pencil.
To solve the problem, the foreign object must be retrieved or blown out of the IO port. Blow on it or use compressed air.

Frozen cursor

Hi, First check your charger with a digital volt meter. + on the inside - on the outside. You should have a little more what your battery is rated at. If that is OK check connections to and from the Laptop.
My guess is that your charger is not working. Relpace with new and your good to go. Also check for a bad connection on laptop.

My TI-89 Titanium is frozen on a table setup window, and i can't do anything to get out of the screen. when i push any button, the cursor will blink once, but nothing happens or changes... Is this fixable?

This might be fixable - first try 2nd + On or Diamond + On. If those don't fix it, you'll need to reset your calculator. The quickest way is to pop a battery out of the back and put it back in. It also works to press Left + Right + 2nd + On all at once. There's a good chance you will lose anything unarchived with the latter method, so do the battery first.

I had this same problem and the fix is really, really easy.

blow really hard into the I/O port on the top of your calculator, and it should be as good as new!

Lag + Doesn't shut off... (ti84plus)

the I/O plot matters. If blowing doesn't help, insert a stick or something into it. I had the same problem, and my TI 84 plus had already been extremely unresponsive and slow before, as I fixed the latter problem by blowing really hard into the I/O plot, I did the same to fix the new problem. For many times nothing happened. Then I insert a metal stick into it and gently hit it inside. In a short while, the calc was normal again!! Now my calc even turns on when it's been put off, with its cursor frozen. I simply use my little finger to dig/scratch the plot and see the lovely cursor beating again. PS Having such a funny calc is really bad, but every time you fix it you'll feel good
