Try uninstalling the printer and re-installing it as generic/text only (don't select the driver, just use the generic driver in Windows). What port is this connected to? Is the error light flashing?

Hi!

Are you using a third party USB adapter or a USB interface? On the self test page that you printed does it say USB connection or something that will say about USB? or does it say parallel or serial connection? try to check the dip switches setting if its configured properly. visit epsonexperts.com site for more info.

Trying to set up star tsp100 printer as a receipt printer on averasell pos software. Have installed the printer and it prints test page fine. However when I try and do an invoice on averasell the cashdraw...


... For windows 7 YOU MUST go to your printers properties and click the advanced tab and change it from PRINT SPOOL to PRINT DIRECTLY TO PRINTER...

and if you want your receipt to print off to the right size... install a second copy of the STAR TSP100 and set it as (COM3)... (make sure in the properties you change the paper size to 72 X receipt and cut to partial) i'd do it on both copies

as well go in to the virtual port config and add COM 3 and COM 4

then go to the averasel station properties and set cash drawer as com 4 with the generic/text printer and then under invoices set the print drivers as the star tsp100 copy (the one that is on com3)
and set the actual printer as Star Tsp100(the one that is usb)


sorry for the some what confusing step's perhaps someone else can word it better as i do not have the software in front of me right now...


but my end result was a cash drawer that opened
a printer that printed TO THE RIGHT SIZE and not a full page

your printer is printing garbage because the file you tried to print corupt or the printer driver is corupt restart printer and pc then try printing a test page from the printer driver if this works then that file you printed and did come out properly is corrupt suggest you delete or if it a word file copy and paste into a fresh word document should sort out the corrupt file if the test page also comes out as garbage the uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it then test again

I cannot get my kitchen printer to work at all, i cannot add it....the receipt printer has always worked fine as well as the full size report printer....please help!!!


In order for the kitchen printer to work in RPE, it must first work in Windows. The printer must be listed as a windows printer and under properties, it should be able to print a test page.
If it can print test page, open RPE, go to OPTIONS, SETUP, FRIENDLY PRINTER SETUP. See if you have a listing for kitchen printer and if the right printer is selected.

Epson iii & 4 printers prints slow


Try printing something that is formatted properly to fit on a receipt roll printer. the Windows test page will always be slow on a receipt roll printer, because it is formatted for 8-1/2" X 11" pritners and contains graphics. I suspect that actual printing will be fine.

Hooked printer up to newer computer which operates windows xp and printer will not print. Powers on fine. But when I add the printer to my system it won't print test page


You'll more than likely need to go to the manufacturers website to download the drivers for the Operating system you've migrated to...even if its the same you'll still need to download the printer driver onto your new computer

HP 3050 vertical black lines during fax


OK, from the desciption i can assume several things here are some option.
If by receipt you are talking about the confirmation the unit prints the the problem is likely dirty glass.
You would also get the lines when you make a copy using the ADF.
Open the lid there are two areas of glass the thin strip is likely dirty and needs to be cleaned.

If by receipt you mean pages you receive from someone else, and not printed or copied on your machine, then their machine has the condition described above.

If everything has the lines then you have a toner or fuser problem:
This is the test to determine toner or fuser issue.
Print a test page
When you hear the paper feed into the machine open the top to stop the machine
Remove the toner cart.
You should be able to see the page with printing on it. (This is before the page hits the fuser)
If you can see the smudge or marks on the page the problem is most likely the cartridge but NOT the fuser.
If the page is clean the problem is most likely the fuser.

An extra cut about 1 inch after the invoice is printed


Go into printer friendly setup, then select the receipt printer and choose the option 'Cut at this station'. Make sure it is unchecked. Your problem solved ;)
