Let's start a new troubleshooting.

My understanding of the problem is that the machine does not agitate, spin, nor drain. All of the washer functions are disabled except the fill functions. These symptoms clearly indicate a bad lid switch. Otherwise, the problem lies within the drive motor.

The lid switch can be bypassed to verify whether it is indeed faulty or the motor is dead. Pry the top of the console end cap trims off then remove the screws securing the front corners of the console to the top of the cabinet.

Disconnect the lid switch harness connector by pressing washer, fills w/ water then nothing... - eef17fb.jpg located in the middle, and pulling it up.

Bypass the lid switch by connecting a jumper wire between the terminals of the disconnected harness. Replace the lid switch if the machine works. Otherwise, replace the motor.

Bypass the lid switch by connecting a jumper wire between the brown and gray terminals
of the disconnected harness. Replace the lid switch if the machine
    works. Otherwise, replace the motor.

The cabinet needs to be removed when replacing the lid switch or motor.

    The cabinet is attached
to the rear of the washer by
    two brass-colored
retaining clips. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the turned-up edge
of the clip, located on both sides, and then pry back to release the
clip from the slot in the cabinet.

Open and hold the lid while grabbing
the cabinet front opening then tilt the top of the cabinet toward you by
pulling the cabinet away from the base. This releases the front and
back slots of the cabinet from the tabs in the front and back of the
base. Using the side of your leg and/or body as a support for the front
of the cabinet, carefully lift up and set the cabinet aside.

The lid switch can now be accessed and replaced in the cabinet.

To replace the motor, pry the clips off
securing the pump to the motor and remove the pump.

Unplug the motor harness and remove the screws securing the motor clips then pry the clips off.

Pull the motor out to remove then pry the coupler off the motor shaft the tap it in to the shaft of the new motor.

Put the rubber grommet and reinstall the motor aligning the grommet slots with the prongs of the coupler other half on the transmission shaft. Plug the harness back then reinstall the pump in reverse order of the removal steps. Bring the cabinet to the front of the washer then slide the front bottom rail of the cabinet under the rail at the
of the machine then lay down the cabinet into position. Make sure the
slots in the cabinet sit into the tabs at the base of machine.

Reconnect the lid switch harness then push the retaining clips back into position to secure the cabinet to the rear of the machine. Reinstall and secure the console to complete the repair.

Hi. If you want to get a new washer and just need to empty your dud machine, use a siphon and a hose or a small pump and a hose. Either way you will empty the machine in no time flat. J.

i'd rather jumper/ bypass the switch so the water will spin out of the clothes as well.

I have kenmore 80 series heavy duty/ super capacity plus washer that after it fills with water, hot or cold and it starts the wash cycle, I noticed that the agitator only moves once in awhile and stops

hum either a bad timer sticking the point contacts close. have u tried this in all cycles? and possibly a motor with bad windings not enough power to run agitation? try running in mild or gentle and see what happens? I was tempted to say the cam dogs in agitator but they dont work then stop then work, when they go out they go out.

11 year old Kenmore washer fills then stops.

in the machine under the front control panel will be a module that controls the wash agitation. Have it checked out as they fail . There is no connection between the timer and this unit as it comes in to play when the water reaches a set level. The timer just keeps working through the cycles believing the washer is agitating.

On newer, and sometimes a little newer, Whirlpool and Kenmore (Kenmore is made by Whirlpool) considers a few things in determing capacity. Most of the inner baskets are the same size, but they also add in agitator action into the mix. A Kenmore with an auger top agitator would have higher capacity than a Kenmore with just a normal agitator, even though it has the same sized drum. So a super capacity washer would have theoretically less CLEANING CAPACITY than a super capacity plus. The agitator action is actually what determines capacity on these models. So, with that in mind, cubic load should be about the same on both units. Sorry that I had to go into "Bill Nye The Washer Guy" mode, but thats about the only way to describe. Let me know if I can confuse you any more haha. Seriously though, if you need further help or info, write back, and will try to get you some other information. Remember, this theory only works on top load "normal people" washers, not the front loaders.
