If the height has dropped down, you need to first find out why. Most likely there is a bad capacitor in the sweep power supply or the vertical output section. Good Luck

Get service manual / schematics from HERE and find why vertical uotput IC is blown in your TV.
Service Manual will also give you info how to perform vertical adjustments.
Hope this info will help you to resolve problem.

Don, who says you need the vertical ic replaced? Although you are to the point as to where the problem is. I think the ic is ok. The ic is a 7 or maybe a 9 pin component. In some cases it could be 13 pins. If you are sure where the location is, it is mounted to a large heat sink. I am not real sure of mitsubishi location scheme . If you can find it, most of the time pins 3 and 4 will be shorted. Measure to be sure. I think it is good. Look real close at the pins. They may have rings around them..resolder these making sure not to use to much solder. They should make contacts between pins. Now examine the four or maybe 5 capacitors with corresponding numbers. replace them with exact values. Use High Temp 105 degree ones. If you decide to replace the vertical ic, removed the clip around it. It will be the LA78--- series, cross it with an NTE replacement. see your electronic store for parts.
