SOURCE: TV vertical height-Mitsubishi Model CS 35505

If the height has dropped down, you need to first find out why. Most likely there is a bad capacitor in the sweep power supply or the vertical output section. Good Luck

SOURCE: need vertical ic replaced and capasitors. do

Don, who says you need the vertical ic replaced? Although you are to the point as to where the problem is. I think the ic is ok. The ic is a 7 or maybe a 9 pin component. In some cases it could be 13 pins. If you are sure where the location is, it is mounted to a large heat sink. I am not real sure of mitsubishi location scheme . If you can find it, most of the time pins 3 and 4 will be shorted. Measure to be sure. I think it is good. Look real close at the pins. They may have rings around them..resolder these making sure not to use to much solder. They should make contacts between pins. Now examine the four or maybe 5 capacitors with corresponding numbers. replace them with exact values. Use High Temp 105 degree ones. If you decide to replace the vertical ic, removed the clip around it. It will be the LA78--- series, cross it with an NTE replacement. see your electronic store for parts.

I have a (very old) Mitsubishi CS-2655R TV. It's

You will need a soldering gun that has a smaller point and rosin core solder (smaller solder is better for this job) cost about $20-$30

Best way to fund the vertical IC without a diagram is follow the Green and Yellow wires from the yoke( coild around picture tube neck)
the Green and Yellow wires are the vertical winding and will get you close to the vertical output IC which should be standing straight up with about 8-10 pins going through the circuit board, using a magnifying glass verify if the pins have circle cracks around them and just solder them each heating them for a few seconds flowing solder to the pin not the soldering gun. verify that non are shorted (soldered) together that aren't suppossed to be. Sometimes the end ones or a few are together (usually a ground spot).
hope this helps
thanks

Mitsubishis TV Problem

have a Mitsubishi TV 1993. Model CS-35301. The problem is that there is a white line that is running through a blank screen. The sound is fine just no picture. Have you heard of "Vertical Collapse?" I would love to save the TV. Hi nothing to worry just minimise brightness to avoid screen burn. "Vertical Collapse?" means one bright hor.line in the middle of screen. this problem can be solved 1 check vertical yoke connector or wire loose 2 check supply to vertical section which normally comes from EHT transformer check components in vertical section or print loose regards thanks

Won't stay on

The quick horizontal line through the center of the screen usually denotes a failure in the vertical output circuit, and that would keep the set from staying on. You would have to take it to a repair shop for repair.
