Question about Insignia LCDTV26 26 in. Television
I bought this tv 5 years ago and for the last 3 years, it's been cutting off when I turn of and I have to keep turning it on everytime t cuts off sometimes for over an hour before it even stays on. I have it in my bedroom, so it' hardly ever used or used only when I wake up on weekend nd lay in bed.
A very common problem for this set has been bad electrolytic capacitors on the power supply. There are 2 in this model that are 1000uf at 35 volts that will commonly cause this. When they go bad they will normally be domed or mushroomed on top rather than be flat, so they should be easy to locate. If you can solder, they would be easy to change yourself. You can get the caps just about anywhere online for only a few dollars. A repair shop would probably charge around $100 to make this repair if it is indeed bad capacitors.
