Question about Acer Computers & Internet
Ok, so last night a yellow stripe appeared down the middle of my screen. I have an Acer Aspire 5517. The stripe is about two inches wide and goes from the top of the screen to the bottom, directly to the left of the very middle. Now beforehand, that part of the screen had horizontal lines appearing and disappearing in quick succession. It still does that, but with the added bonus of the yellow stripe.
The horizontal lines have been going on for a few days now, but neither they or the stripe effect anything in a major way. The yellow stripe distorts the color on that part of the screen, but I can still see through it. If I squeeze the plastic trim on or to the right of the stripe at the top, that half of the laptop screen goes white or distorts completely, then goes back to normal when I let go. It doesn't do this to the left side of the stripe at all.
I'm at a loss of what to do, so does anyone have any idea what's wrong or how to fix it? Should I just take it in to have it looked at?
This system has a VGA port so you can plug in an external monitor. You can buy one for less than $130 based on the Sunday ads. Other than that, it is new laptop time.
