Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

When I move the mouse/pad all kinds of boxes open up and I can eventually get an item but it takes forever. I use this machine only for reading books. Last week it started telling me I have an illegal copy of Windows 7. I purchased the machine in January at Walmart and the S/N is LXN970D001948307411601. I got no operating manual with it so I cannot enter my Windows key code without knowing what it is. Please send me a key code so that I can possibly resolve this problem without spending more money on a new notebook. eMachines 250-1162 S/N LXN970D001948307411601 SNID: 94819846516 UPC 99802567866 EAN 718235318949 I still have the box it came in.

The boxes appear because you have been infected by spyware and adware. Run a good antivirus, that should take care of it.
The illegal message appeared because the key installed on your laptop was used by someone else. To fix that you must phone Microsoft and explain the situation - they will give you another genuine key for free and teach you how to install it.

If you have an external mouse, the mouse pad will be turned off.
There is a setting in the BIOS that allow both to function at the same time.
In windows control panel, there is an item to enable (the been disabled) mouse pad.

hello friend,
I THINK THE PROBLEM IS FROM THE MOUSE PAD, I THINK IS EITHER YOUR HAND IS WET OR SOME LITTLE WATER POURED ON IT, IF NOT, THEN IT IS DEVELOPING SOME FAULTS THAT I THINK MAY TAKE SOME TIME. PLEASE IF YOU CAN LOOK FOR AN EXTERNAL MOUSE TO USE FOR THE MINE TIME NOW AND AVOID TOUCHING THE MOUSE PAD FOR SOME TIME THEN I THINK IT WILL COME BACK TO NORMAL LATTER.

My cursor moves as i type what can i do

You seem to be brushing against the touch pad while you're typing. You need to adjust the sensitivity of that touch pad:
Click on the "Start" icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Select "Control Panel." Next select "Mouse" under "Hardware and Sound." You can also left-click the touchpad while the cursor is anywhere on the desktop. From that screen, choose "Mouse Pointers." Select the "Buttons" tab at the top of the dialog box that opens. This shows the type of touchpad device installed on your laptop. Set the touchpad for right or left-handed use from this dialog box. You can adjust the double click speed of your computer as well. When you finish making any changes, click "Apply." Pick the "Device Settings" tab from the dialog box now. You can see the touchpad for your Vista machine highlighted on this screen. Select "Settings." Read the information provided in the next dialog box. It gives you options for tapping your touchpad, using the buttons, scrolling, pointer motion and sensitivity. Make any changes you want from the various topics. When you make a change, click "Apply." Click "OK" when you finish making all your changes. Do some work on your computer for a while. If the touchpad is still too sensitive, return to the "Mouse" menu and continue to adjust the settings until you get them just the way you want them.

Can't move the dialog box with the mouse using the touch pad can't move an open window or grab the end of the window to resize the window

there are two ways to do that using the touch pad. first is by tapping it twice while the mouse pointer is pointed at the ends or at the dialog box and then dragging it to anywhere you want. second way is to use the left clicker of your touch pad by pressing and holding it while the pointer is pointed at the dialog box and then use the touch pad to drag it to anywhere you want.... i hope this helps...

Elimnate mouse

You are talking about the mouse-pad or also called track-pad, I don't think we have a spanish name for it. To disable clicking with your mosuepad (a.k.a. tapping) go into your control panel mouse options and you should be able to find an option that reads "enable tapping", just unchech the selection box next to it to disable this option.

Mouse keeps droping items

Sound like the left mouse button is just worn out so the connection of the switch inside is not solid.

If it is a wireless mouse, you may be losing connection due to interference

Try a different mouse
