6551 E01 When I get the screen after *4* how do I "reset" error codes? use the paperclip again? hit some other key? I don't have much time and the copier shuts down pretty fast.

I assume that you speak of putting the pen in the front "door" switch, not the "lid". This does not reset the codes. I have had a tech here 2x and he punches a number of things on the key pad to call up the codes and then cancel them. The machine then runs fine for about 3000 copies or 1 month.

No. Unplugging it does nothing. When switched on the error code E001 comes up, then the machine turns off in about 30 seconds. I've had a tech here and he somehow calls up and cancels the error codes by a series of keypad entries. The machine then works fine for about 3000 copies or 1 month. I suspect its the power switch which gets quite warm if I hold it in the on position.

I had to unplug the connector to short J3 and J4. Never saw a count ratio indicator "F" display or any other change in the display. Turned copier off and on a couple of times. Everything is now working fine. So something worked, I'm just not sure what.

Here is how you will reset it:

With the front panel open and the copier lid/carriage lifted up,use a paperclip and stuck it in the small hole on the front grey panel (DC
controller) and simultaneously use a pen to hold down the tab in the
slot on the lower left edge that makes the copier think the lid is
down. It will reset the error code.

To reset these codes perform the following:

Remove the front panel and be careful not to bend or break the flexible

cable connected to the panel and the DC Controller.

Turn on the copier and short the jumper wires JP3 and JP4 on the dc

    controller pcb with a screwdriver.

The count ratio indicator on the control panel turns on 'F'. When 'F'

is turned on stop shorting the jumper wires

Turn off copier and turn it back on and its then reset.

Kyocera KM-2050 Problem error C6400

Fuser unit Error code, you can try to reset, but if the code still there, you need to change the fuser unit.
This is the way to reset your fuser code;
On the panel press 1087 1087
this will take you to the service mode,(look into the screen)
now on the panel again press 163 and hit the start key.
Look in the screen, you will see execute, select execute by the arrow and hit the start key, the machine will turn off then on. or it will ask you to turn the main power off than on. this might fix your problem, if not! change the fuser.

I have a canon 6551 which is giving me an error E-005 turn switch off and on, but nothing happens. How to resolve?

The E005 error code means that the machine needs to have its Fixing Web replaced. After replacing the web, the error code will need to be reset. The part number for the Fixing Web is FY1-1046-000 . To reset the E005 code, you will need to access service mode by opening the front cover of the copier, insert a straightened paper clip into the small hole (located on the left, front side of the upper inner cover), press button with paper clip. Press the Additional Functions (*) button. A " $ " will appear in the display. Press *, 4, *, then you will need to navigate to web counter, select and then enter all 00000 to reset, press ok.

Canon 6551, service mode *28* DOES NOT WORK. Pressing the *, then a number from 1 to 6 then star again, gets you six different menus. None of them user-friendly just a bunch of numbers, counters,...

Hi,

It is necessary to replace Cleaning belt. The DC controller keeps count of the activation of the cleaning belt solenoid, and issues ‘E005’ when the count reaches 250,000. The count can be cleared by resetting the cleaning belt counter ‘619’ in service mode.

50% of the time, you can get it removed by following the below procedure :-

Open the front cover and on the right or left side of the inner front cover there is a small diameter hole that if you stick a paper clip into it will activate the service mode switch which will be denoted by a dollar sign on the control panel. From there push the additional functions key then 4 then the additional functions key again. From there go to error/clear and power cycle and it should be good to go as long as the web has been replaced. This is off the top of my head and it has been awhile so I hope I gave you the correct order.

If problem still persists, call Canon.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
