Question about Emerson CR202EM9 TV
19" emerson model CR202EM9 has bullseye circles of color that started when my telephone and tv satelite were struck by lightning. Repairable or not?
On old style CRT TV's there used to be a Degaus button that nuetralized any static build up inside the tube, and corrected those "Halo" or Color ghosts on the screen. You can take a very strong magnet and pass it a few inches in front of the screen. Try sweeping the magnet across from left to right until you have accurate colors again. (Takes less than 1 minute)
I have a CR202 EM8 and I have had to do this a couple times over the years. On my cable system I can tune in a Color Bars pattern on channel 2, which makes it really obvious where the static build up it affecting your colors.

It should be fixable but depending on the age of the TV,you may want to replace.I would call a repair shop to get an estimate. Are the circles stationary or do they move around? It most likely is the tube since it is so sensitive to any outside electrical influence. You can even hold up a stereo speaker near the screen and see it do things to the picture.I do not have much experience with satellites but I would believe that current ones are built to withstand almost anything they may encounter.Good luck!
