Dehumidifier works fine but every now and then the fan is very noisy, as if it is loose or hitting something. Is there a way of checking to see what is happening?

Hello,

With the unit unplugged, open the cover and check the alignment of the fan. If the fan is stuck or rubbing against the fan cowling, adjust the fan motor's mounting hardware so that the fan turns freely.

Good luck.

Yes. remove parts to allow you room to see the fan and UNPLUG IT FIRST.
turn the fan and look if its hitting something. also look if the fan seems to be bent or damaged. wiggle it to see if it may have come loose also

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement fan for this dehumdifier? Two of the fan blades have broken and the fan now is "out of round" and needs to be replaced. Thanks.

Hi. If it is, the noises are probably caused by loose, vibrating parts. After disconnecting the power:
1) Remove the cover and look for loose screws or vibrating parts and check to see if the rubber compressor mounts have hardened so that they no longer absorb the unit’s movement. If they have, replace them.

2) Wiggle the fan to see if it is loose on its shaft. If it is, tighten the mounting fasteners. Lubricate the motor’s bearings if suggested by your owner’s manual.

3) If it still makes noise, call an appliance repairperson or take the unit into an appliance-repair shop.

Why is a bhd501-d dehumidifier very noisy?. can you give me any ideas on fixing this?

Try pulling the grill off and see if the fan blade is rubbing on something. Check if anything else is loose while you have the cover off..

Fan not working, outlet is live, product is 6 mos old, located in an indoor swimming pool (endless swim machine) Hi E Dry 100,

If the fan does not operate with the fan switch set "on", there is a problem with the power supply, internal wiring, or the fan itself.

First make sure the dehumidifier is plugged in to a working outlet.

Next unplug the dehumidifier and remove the cabinet cover. Check the internal wiring for loose connections.

Next remove the fan and check that it is able to spin freely (by hand). If it spins freely, it should be replaced. Call the manufacturer at 1-800-533-7533 for parts and instructions.

My Haier dehumidifier is really noisy. If we turn it off and restart it, it will run quietly for maybe 4 minutes and then start getting really noisy again. Any ideas what is causing it and what I can do...

Take care.

I HAVE 4 EA NEW LHD659EBK DEHUMIDIFIER and they make lots of noise and vibrate a bit, this is normal in these Dehumidifiers ..

These can be noisy.
Does the noise only happen when the compressor runs? These compressors float on rubber bushings to isolate the vibrations and maybe one of the three nuts on the mounting studs may be loose.
The fan bearings can also wear out.

MY unit has become increasing noisy and the fan is the mane cause. The fan is now making different noises at differing levels high and low of loudness, and it often quits running all togetger. It is also...

It sounds like the bearings in the motor are worn out, especially as you said it quits running at times. You should be safe in just replacing the fan motor, but check the fan blade to make sure it isn't out of balance for any reason(dirty, missing a balance weight, or bent). Hope I was of assistence!

Unfortunately this is quite common for most DH's of this type. The only one that I have found that does not have a reputation for losing the fan or compressor after a year or two is the Whirlpool.
