Why after replacing the LCD in my laptop, the computer will not power up?

Replacing LCD is a big job, try to dissasemble your laptop again and check ALL CONNECTIONS are they plugged in and secured properly. If it is not static damage to the main board (worst case scenario, but it could be anything else), I would concentrate on connections first.

Acer AL2216W DVI not working after connecting to a laptop

I have had an issue on 3 separate occasions where 3 separate Acer monitors would give me a no signal error after being plugged into a laptop. I have found that taking them apart, and then unplugging the main power line from the power supply to the mainboard seems to correct this issue. It may be some kind of power spike that causes this. I am not really sure though. just thought I would post something about it since I couldn't find any posts about the same issue but it has happened to me 3 times. Figured someone out there might find this helpful.

How to Hook Up a Laptop to a LCD TV by an adapter?

First of all check out does both the lcd tv and laptop both have adapter input socket This is the most important step, as it will allow you to buy the right equipment. In the unlikely event that your LCD TV lacks any of the inputs above, purchase an adapter that takes one of the aforementioned output signals and converts it to a component video or composite video input that your TV will accept. Composite video is the most basic connection and is a simple yellow jack, much like you'd use to connect a DVD player. Component video is three separate plugs: a red, a blue and a green. Both methods require separate audio connection. Turn on your devices. Once you've made the connections, turn devices on. Switch your TV to the input mode that corresponds with the input you used to connect your laptop, and you should now view your laptop on your LCD TV. This will help.Good luck.

Advent 4211 screen to base connection problem

Video Cable

The Video Cable connects to the motherboard.

It then runs along under the Left Hinge, and connects to the back of LCD screen.

{LED backlighting. Does not use a screen Inverter]

Due to just normal opening, and closing of the laptop; the Video Cable may be pinched.

This can cause the connection of the Video Cable TO motherboard, to be loose; and/or LCD screen.

Solution is to partially disassemble the laptop, and PHYSICALLY make sure the connection at motherboard is tight.
Visual inspection will NOT do.

Connection at back of LCD screen needs to be Physically checked also. (Try to plug in tighter)

Also visually inspect the sheath of the Video Cable, for apparent signs of damage.
Any signs of damage to the sheath, may mean damage to the tiny wires inside the Video Cable.

Also due to the age of the laptop, suspect cracking of the insulation, of the wires inside the Video Cable.
If you have a multimeter, set it to OHM's (1K), and check continuity of every wire in the Video Cable.
Or take it to a small computer store, and have the resident tech check it.

The Advent 4211 is just a rebadged MSI Wind U100, according to my findings,

Disassembly guide,

That's the problem, the Video Cable,

[ In the photo, the large connector at bottom plugs into the LCD screen.
The smaller connector at the upper right plugs into the motherboard.
The separate black wire you see with the eyelet on it, is a Ground wire ]

To connect with lcd with hdmi

Looks like your laptop has a HDMI port. Simply connect to LCD (HDMI if supported) port and make sure LCD is set to correct input (HDMI). It should be plug and play, but try connecting and then powering laptop, then LCD, then choosing input port on LCD.

!!!no reaction on plugging the ac adaptor.!!!

Sound like the LCD screen's inverter is causing an short/overload and the power adapter is shutting down (thermal cutout).
Remove the LCD screen and connect an external monitor, power up the external monitor first and the boot up the laptop. The video should automatically on the external monitor. If the display on the external monitor is OK then the fault could be the inverter which is located at the bottom of the LCD screen between the hinges.
LCD screens and Inverters for your laptop maybe available from this WEB

Having prob connecting my laptop to a TV via hdmi

try playing around a bit with the display settings, there are not many laptops that are setup to automatically adjust to the dual screen setup with an lcd tv. Also, iv found that Not using the lcd as a duplicate of the main screen is a good idea, set it up as a separate screen...if you know what i mean, if you do it right you will see only yourbackground on the tv and no start menu bar or icons.... In this configuration you can set the resolution to the max for the best quality possible for your television.
