Question about PC Desktops

When I responded to the order to renew my file, the system would not DOWNLOAD when I clicked on it. I thought my system may not be compatible so I input a second. The Order# for the one I want to keep is 773479657 at $69.98. The one I want deleted, if you can do so, is Order# 773480351 at $49.99. Thanks!!!

Have you upgraded your OS to Win 7? If so this is a common problem, use the Vista driver found here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/dimension-3100 Have you done ALL the Windows updates? Bios update


BIOS updates are not necessary unless you have hardware compatibility issues or hardware related system instability. To obtain the most recent version of your BIOS (or any other downloads or info), go to Dell's website, click support and enter your model number, and it will show you anything you might need. If i understand this correctly, you have purchased Spyware Doctor, but can't install it. If this is true, click "start", find "control panel" and click to open. When control panel opens, find "Programs and Features". Right click on that and open. Find Spyware Doctor in the list that comes up and right click on that. Click on uninstall. Click, next, or allow on all windows that pop up. At the end you will see "finish". When done if it doesn't prompt you to restart, then do so. Now go back into progarms and features and make sure anything having Spyware Doctor is gone. If so exit.
When computer restarts, install your insatllation cd for your spyware. You should either see "run" or "allow", or a window will pop up and, at the bottom of the window, You should see "open file with...". Click on that. This will open another window that lists your files for the software. You should see "autorun", maybe with a icon, or, 'autorun.exe". Right click on the auorun file and it shoul start your download immediately or will ask you to allow to run. When downloading, you might have to click next or allow on certain things for download to complete. When it gets to end, click on finish and if not prompted to restart then do so. After restart, you sofware may open or you may have a new icon in your group. If it doesn't open automatically, click on the icon.

However, you might want to consider the instructions below, as many people have had the same issue you're having with getting those drivers to work with Windows 7:

You may need to install the drivers in compatibility mode for Windows XP

To run the driver installation program in compatibility mode
Configure the driver installation program to run in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Locate the executable file for the driver installation program.
2. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
3. In the PackageName Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
4. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows XP (Service Pack 2) in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.
5. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.

You need to run installer software from printer disk, before connecting the printer usb to computer.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

My computerdid not download when I renewed. My symantec order confirmation is 774137771. My computer tells me I need to renew my order.


Make sure that your firewalls are off when you install new programs. If that is/was the case , you may want to give Symantec customer service a call.
