Which will be cheaper:
* paying a technician $50 to $75 for labour/parts to fix it?
* paying $50 to $100 to buy a new 17-inch LCD monitor?

I can not turn off the sleep mode on my LG Flatron monitor W2361VG-PF

This monitor has a manufacturer's defect in two of the wiring harnesses: the harness going from the controller board to the power button (4 grey, 1 blue wire) and from the power button to the side controls (3 grey, 1 blue wire). Open the monitor (snaps apart, no screws) and gently tug on each wire individually. One of them is causing the problem. You can replace the harnesses, try to fix them, or solder new wires directly to the pins.

My LG FLATRON W1934S was working fine last night. went to turn it on this morning and nothing happened. no orange or blue lights and it wasnt left in sleep mode either. what could be wrong with it?

I would suspect a problem in the monitor power supply, either a fuse or possible bad filter caps especially if you had to turn it on several times to get it on just before it failed.

If you are able to open it here is what bad caps look like:

W2361v will not turn on.

This monitor has a manufacturer's defect in two of the wiring harnesses: the harness going from the controller board to the power button (4 grey, 1 blue wire) and from the power button to the side controls (3 grey, 1 blue wire). The insulation was not stripped properly from the blue wires on any of the 4 connectors. You will have to open the monitor (snaps apart, no screws) and replace the 2 blue wires. You can solder jumpers to the pins or replace the entire harnesses.

LG Flatron 575MS 15.1" LCD Monitor Need 24 volt power supply

alkarim 15, Are you looking for an "open frame" switcher or a "open frame" linear dc supply. Does it need to have regulated output or if linear type just brute force output.What is the current requirement of the circuit you will use with the power supply? Have you checked www.jameco.com or www.digikey.com or www.newark.com . Does it need to be AC or DC output? 12fixlouie

Blue on indicator light not working

Hello,

If turned on and working good, just the indicator light that does not show.

This indicates that the indicator bulb is bad or burnt.

All you need to do is to replace the indicator bulb of your monitor.

Take care.

Can't get monitor to power on

I have a similar switch on mine, although mine is a Gateway. So my solution is going to assume the same indicators and functionality.

On mine, a blue-violet power switch indicates it is off, red indicates standby mode, and blue to indicate it is on and/or searching for a signal. When turned on (blue), the monitor will go to standby mode (red) after 3 to 4 seconds if it does not detect a source signal. So if you toggle the power switch to blue and it soon changes to red, you'll need to check your signal, cable, or possibly for a bad source connection on the monitor.
