When checking electric wiring or componets make sure it's unglugged
if you're taking about the main burner,, then you have either a defective safety thermostat--replace
or you have a main valve solenoid defective---replace

if your taking about the pilot light---chances are you have a bad thermocouple ---replace

My dryer only has heat for 2 min after it starts then the flame goes off

Does the problem happen in timed drying as well as automatic drying? If it happens in all modes I would suspect a high limit thermostat is tripping. Especially if it starts back up after cooling down.
Check for clogged or obstructed vent hose .Make sure your getting good air flow from blower to the outside. If you have flexible hose make sure there is no water collected in it.Make sure lint screen is clean. It may be time to take off back panel and check for massive dust deposits. If ok ,then with the back is off you can put a volt meter on timer side of thermostat or stats and turn on dryer . When flame cuts out at 2 minutes ,see what volt meter says .If voltage good there then the problem is high limit thermostat or bad igniter or bad gas valve. If no voltage then then the problem is with moisture sensor.

Hpoe this helps

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

No heat while drying

If this is a gas dryer. It's possible that the solenoid gas valve has gone bad. One way to determine this is by do a dry cycle and listen to the gas and flame to start. It shoudl sound like a flame starting on a regular stove top. Once the flame starts you can hear the flame. If the flame stops in less than a minute that is an indication that the gas valves has switched off. You need to have the solenoid valve replaced.

The dryer is started and the flame starts to dry the clothes. The dryer runs for about 10 minutes then the flame goes out. The dryer continues to run but the flame is out and does not turn back on. ...

Remove the entire venting system and thoroughly clean the lint out. This does cause this problem you have for no heat after running for a few minutes

The gas drier takes 2 or 3 times to dry everything works fine but wont get real hot

there should be a an opening on the front panel or a piece of plastic that you can pop off to see the ignitor.start the dryer and while your clothes are drying after around 20 to 30 minutes look in the hole and see if the flame is lighting or is the ignitor just glowing and then it goes out without the flame lighting.if this is what's happening and sounds like it is you have bad gas coils.they will work until they heat up and then they fail, when they cool down they will work again for like 20 minutes and then shut down again.this is an easy fix, just take out the two phillips screws that hold the coils down on top of the gas valve, remove the cover and change out the coils.let me know what you find

Dryer flame on magtag wont stay lit. Pilot flares up but no flame

Thermocouple is probably bad. The pilot burns and heats a sensor which tells the CPU that the Flame can start, and the thermocouple heating up changes voltage with increase temperature and tells the CPU that the Flame is burning OK. If it is defective, there is no voltage change and the CPU assumes that the Flame didn't start for some reason, (Gas only!) and turns if off for safety. Over and over xx times.
