Problem: Processing calibration data from a scanner

Help! I'm using Canoscan Lide 70 for the first time and I get this message: "Processing calibration data from a scanner (about 1 to 2 minutes required). Do not open the document cover."

And nothing happens, so I quit the program. I am Mac user and am using the scanner's software PHOTOSTUDIO. I installed all their software and followed the directions to a T. HELP anyone!!!

Thanks.

I have 10.6.4. Yeah, their software freezes up. Does anyone recommend using the Twain plug-in?

    Thanks.

I purchased this scanner used from ebay, so the tape wasn't an issue.

    Thanks for input!

Same problem happened to me last week on my newly purchased canon lide scanner, then I realized there is a tape that holds the mechanism underneath the scanner. You will have to remove the tape, and see if it is set to the unlocked position (mine has a sort of a knob if my memory served me right).

Got to the below link, choose the operating system you have.
if you want to check the operating system in your computer...press window logo key and then pause/break key at the same time..the new windows which will pop up gives the information.
select the operating system and download the drivers.

Using Canoscan Lide 70. When trying to scan receive message "not enough room on target disk" When I reinstall Toolbox it works (for a while, then same repeats).

When you scan a picture, you send it to a "Target" folder which you can set up in your scan options or settings.

At a guess your current destination or target folder is getting to large for the hard drive that its registered on

You've 2 options, clean out the target drive or use the scan options to send your pictures to a new destination with plenty of space.

Is there a calibration option for Canon Canoscan Lide 70?

Im not sure if this specific scanner has one But what it would do is calibrate the lights in the scanner to pick up colors better and it would calibrate the position of the scanning bar.

CanoScan Scanner can not complete a scan

Double-check all connections and try another port if possible. There may also be damage to cables or pins. Do you have another cable to try? Do other devices work in the same port?

Error message

Hi toolpusher

Try going to CanoScan Toolbox > Settings and reset the 'defaults' button at bottom... this will restore factory settings and hopefully fix your problem... The other error message you can expect to get is "unable to scan - insufficent memory, check your **** space' (or something similar)... same fix works for both! ...Have had both messages on mine, sounds like a semi-regular conflict on some sort, but seems to be easily fixed. Good luck :-)
