Message keypad shorted what does it mean?

This means you have either a stuck key (button) or failed ribbon. THis model number is incomplete as there are 7 different models and that has a lot to do with colors and features. But price wises it appears that runs about 90.00 or so to replace that key pad as it is the console assembly. Send me the rest of the model number and I will send you the correct part number you will need to repair this unit.

Good Luck

GE model JES1456BJ04 Serial #DR901896B the unit turns on by itself and will also get the F3 error code and the "veggies" turn will so on the display w/no provacation. Sounds similar to what a...

"F3" on a GE microwave means you have a shorting membrane keypad.
It is part number WB27X10816 and Sears Parts Direct online indicates that the keypad is still available, but I have my doubts. You will just have to place an order with them, and they will notify you in a few days if it's not really available. Annoying, but they're the only game in town on this part.
If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.
If you would like to have me replace it for you, I would do that for $54.95, which includes insured return shipping.
I would have you either order it and have them drop-ship it to me, or order it yourself and include it with your control panel assembly when you send it to me for repair.
If you decide to send yours in for repair, here is the info you need:
For disassembly info, you can watch the video at my site, or see these text files:
Be very careful when disconnecting the cables & wires. I would photograph or mark the wires during disassembly. Also, some connectors have a locking tab: WHAT TO SEND
I really need the entire control panel assembly - the plastic frame, keypad and control circuit boards - as shown in the attached example photo.
(So once you've detached this assembly from the chassis of the microwave, no further disassembly is required or desired)
Yours should have a "mini-manual" (technical sheet) hidden either behind the grille or control panel. I'd appreciate if you send that, too. I'll copy & return it. And please include my repair formand include yourmodel numberandFCC ID numberfrom the tag, or e-mail or print a clear photo of the tag.
(The repair form has my address, shipping recommendations, payment information, and basic terms of service.) TURNAROUND
If needed, I can rush it for you if you simply write "RUSH" in just the top margin of my repair form.
WARRANTY Unless otherwise specified, I give you a one-year repair guarantee. Thanks, - William E. Miller, AS-EET

The steam function is not working .i would like to know who i can send the machine to ,to fix it.

I would contact the manufacturer and on their web site find out your nearest repair agent. At least then you know that it will be repaired properly with a guarantee backed by the manufacturer.
Hope that helps

Door cracked

Contact Whirlpool. Most stores won't sell a part like this, and if you get one from a repair center, it will either be a used door, or they will charge you an insane price for it. Most times, the manufacturer can get you parts at a cheaper price, or, if you're under warranty and the door just fell apart, they might be able to send you the door (or repair the whole thing themselves) for free!
They don't seem to have a phone number, but here's the email form to contact them:

Good luck! :)

I have a emerson microwave that has stopping heating, model #mw8119sb, please help me

Emerson may be able to tell you which part has failed but you may have to have the unit looked at be a small appliance repair person. Send Emerson an email to with your model number and the problem you're having. If the unit is out of warranty, it may be cheaper to replace the microwave depending on what you paid for it. Keep in mind that the labor on any repair will be a minimum of $50 if you have to take it someone's shop, and that doesn't include the price of the part. Any part needed would be purchased from Fox International who's the part distributor for Emerson. They wouldn't know which part you need, however, because they're just a large parts store. Below is the link for Emerson's website.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

Would not heat, now outside gets hot

yes! , this is dangerous , be cause it sounds like the magnetron that sends out the microwaves may not be controlled , thus heating the outside and will be sending waves out of the microwave!
you will need a qualified electronic repair shop to deal with this, these microwaves are very dangerous and that unit should not be used untill it has been fixed , for the safety of you and anyone who uses or is around when in use.
these microwaves that are sent across the air to heat the food is burning it and it can do the same to you or any one who is around it while in use
even when in working normal conditions the waves still leak out some , so i always walk away when heating food in the microwave and i advise others to do the same
so the magnetron will need replaced and maybe another component but it needs to be tested to make sure nothing else is damaged also
hope my help has pleased you and that you can give me a fixya rating( all others hurt our rating) as i work on these and i know the symptoms that happen and the causes
again hope you can give me the fixya! , thanks , and if you need any other help, just ask me!

Sharp microwave

That's a UK model.

The solution is to have your control unit repaired. In most cases, a shop will just replace the whole control unit, but they are likely to fail again without our proprietary modifications.

We repair those mostly for US and Canadian customers, but in the UK you can contact Quality Electronic Repairs. I think they repair these.

We occasionally have customers from the UK and Australia send theirs in for repair (not just board replacement) but the extra shipping charges may be a bit much for most customers.

Quite often, a customer will send their old defective board, unit then swap it when we send it back.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Replace door hinge on JVM1533WD002

Door Hinge replacement requires a Microwave Radiation Leak Test be performed after repairs.I am surprised they would sell you the part knowing this. You should have this repaired by a professional for SAFETY sake.
