Question about Computers & Internet
What kind of a password is this:
1) BIOS/ Power up password
2) Windows Login Password
3) Encrypted hard drive password
The BIOS password can usually be reset by the manufacturer
or the dealer.
The Windows password can be cracked with software.
The Disk encryption password cannot be recovered, but
the disk can be re-formated and the operating system re-installed.
Be wary of the origins of this PC. Stolen PC's contain embedded
RFID tags, which will identify them when you walk through a controlled door or an airport.
Also many new PC's use the wireless internet to call home
and report their GPS location. This feature cannot be disabled
without a master password.
Assuming you legitimately own this PC, you probably
want to call the manufacturer to unlock it for you, you
may loose data when you do this.
