Yes it can be faulty capacitor. The capacitor most of the times gets weak. They show power but low power and that is the has to be replaced. But if the capacitor replacement does not help then its fault in relay. The relay is beside the capacitor. That relay has to be replaced. Check out.Thanks.

Tssu-36-12m-b unit no cooling

Generally when the overload starts tripping the compressor is telling you it has failed. There is a relay that plugs into the compressor electrical connections and a start capacitor that is attached to that relay. Its a relatively low cost adventure to replace those 2 components maybe 30 bucks at the supply house. Otherwise if the condenser is clean and the condenser fan is running and the component replacement doesn't help you're going to need to buy a new compressor. Hope this helps and good luck.

Not freezing or cooling and compressor clicking on and off

From your description it sounds like the start components (start relay, overload and capacitor) are having problems. The clicking you hear is probably the overload kicking out to protect the compressor. It is quite possible that the compressor simply has gotten too hot and after sitting a while will restart when plugged back in. The start components are not generally considered 'user serviceable' parts. When the compressor has cooled to pretty much room temp, plug it in and be listening for those clicks. If you hear them, unplug it because it could eventually damage the compressor. Those components give the compressor an extra jolt to get the compressor running then they drop out of the circuit. If the compressor doesn't start, it creates heat until the overload drops out.

Fan won't run / won't cool

It may have a faulty compressor relay or overload, best to change both at the same time. It's either that or a bad compressor.

Compressor not kicking in on 'cool'; or ;dry'

Have you checked that the controls are not set to fan only? If you have lets go to the next step. All window A/C have thermal switch.. These thermal switch keeps the compressor from overheating. In the event that the compressor is overloading it would trip then click back on as the compressor cools down. Sometimes those switches go bad but the compressor is ok. They are mounted on the compressor themselves and accesable once the A/C unit cover has been opened.

Compressor kicks off on overload/relay. Even after replaceing overload/relay and cap. It will run ok for a week if you let it cool down.

This is often found in small compressors when they heat up too much or too often. check to be sure the condenser coil is clear and has good airflow. If so and it still trips on overload then the compressor is bad. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Fan runs. compressor buzzes when it tries to kick in. buzzes about 15 sec. then kicks out. fan keeps running . no cooling because comp.isnt pumping. model# msd 2456ge

I believe you are having a compressor start component failure problem. It is best to not leave the refrigerator plugged in while this is happening, as the problem could also damage the compressors internal overload. I could tell you the part numbers, but to not check the compressor windings first would be a mistake. If you would like my assistance let me know, Sea Breeze

Will not cool fan runs though

It sounds as if the compressor has gone out. To see if it is out you need to pull the fridge out to access the lower part of the fridge. There will be a black oval tub looking device in back of a fan. Plug the unit in and see if the compressor kicks in you will hear a humming noise from this device. You can put your hand on it to see if it is vibrating but be careful if it has gone into thermal overload it will be very hot. You may want to unplug the fridge for approx 4 hours or so before attempting to check this since if it is in thermal overload it will not start so the time it is unplugged it will cool down and start. Once you plug it back in check to see if the compressor is humming by listening to it or feeling it. It may run fine from this point out or it may go back into thermal overload in which case the compressor has gone out.

Hope for the best good luck.

My roof dometic roof top air conditioner runs but will not cool when the motor kicks on it goes right back off and will not cool

Check run capacitor, or in the compressor wire box, there should be a little black overload that might be weak or loose connection.
