Question about Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7825 Notebook
Spinrite may report seek errors for different reasons. If you format the hard drive, and before formatting you delete and re-define the partition in the right way (eg using fdisk/ntfs), then you will get no errors.
Level 4 (or level 5) seek error on an unformatted new drives are often due to the way the manufacturer configures partition using an imaging software. As said this errors do not necessarily mean that the disk is bad. There are more reasons causing seek errors. The important thing is that you do not get any R/W errors.
Low level utilities like Spinrite will always detect a number of seek errors on a new hard drive.
