My palm tx stylus cannot press anything and i have to put in a unlock password (which i know) but i don't want to have to do a hard reset.

If you have the password then you should be able ot make this work. The 5-way button works like a (very annoying) joystick or mouse. You should be able to use that to navigate around instead of the stylus. Once you get into the tx then you want to run the prefs and then the screen calibration. That should get your stylus working.

Unfortunately this can also be the digitizer having failed. There is no driver or reconfig for this so you need to replace the hardware. You can usually purchase the digitizer and screen for about $45. There are dozens of PDA repair shops that sell palm parts. These shops will sell the digitizer (usually with the screen) and they will offer the repair service. This is a repair you can tackle at home. You need jewellers screwdrivers, an old credit card (to pry apart the case without making marks) and a 5 or 5.5 torx screw driver. If you look on the various pda parts web sites you will find instructional videos on doing this. Watch them and see if that looks like something to try (it should, it's actually very easy) then order your parts. This is also a good excuse to replace the battery as it needs to come out anyway so maybe get a new one at the same time.

To find the parts or a repair just use google or bing and search for PDA repair parts. Almost all will have stuff for the various palms. Check out the prices for parts and repair (pays to shop around) but don;t forget to have a look at the instructions.

My Palm TX is not showing anything on the display. The hot sync is working. Only has Blank White screen. What is going on?

Hard reset. Hold the power button as you reset. Be careful, because it will erase everything on the pda.

Is there anyway to delete files from a Palm TX using the desktop?

Unless I'm not understanding your question, any entries that you delete from either the desktop or PDA will delete from the other device when you sync your PDA.

So, if you delete an item from your Palm desktop, the next time you sync your PDA to your desktop, the entry will be deleted from your PDA as well.

But, if you haven't backed up / synced your PDA to your desktop yet, install and run Hotsync Manager - do that first. And, perform that procedure often so that your info on your PDA will be safe on your desktop.

Hope this helps.

Bought TX but have no desktop software cd

HI,
Yes if you go to palm.com you will find a section for support. You can download everything you need there to get your PDA up and running. Once you have the software installed on your computer you will want to go in and enter all your information like names and addresses in your contact section. Once you have that all done you connect the PDA to the computer by using the usb cord and then hit HotSync. You can go back later and update any of your infomation right in the PDA itself. Best wishes. Let me know if you need any other help with this.

After a soft reset, my Palm TX becomes stuck on the "Palm Powered" screen. I have tried all of the resets, including the hard reset. The PDA does not respond to any of the resets. I can not turn the PDA...

You need to perform full reset which will erase all personal data and set everything to factory default. You need to press reset and power button to perform full reset. It will give you confirmation once you choose yes it will perform hard reset If issue persist you may disconnect and reconnect to internal battery

I have a Palm TX. 3Years old. 6 Months ago had to calibrate Touchscreen every day. 2 months ago had to calibrate touch screen 2/3 times a day. Recently can't calibrate touch screen. Targets go into loop...

Same happened to my 3 month old TX. I just recharged it, and all was OK! Sounds strange at first, but in my hometown, it is very humid, so maybe it got some moist inside and that caused some variations in the power or battery or voltage... dunno, maybe you need some cleaning, or try to calibrate while plugged.

Hope to be useful!

Palm TX Handheld - Delete all records

Hi, the best option would be a hard reset. Before doing so, i would suggest doing one lase hotsync.

at the back of your pda, there is a reset button. press this. be prepared. as it is resetting, press and hold the power button as well as the up button. hold these for like 3 seconds then release. it will then ask you whether you wanted to reset it. press the up button once again and release. it will then reset the pda.

if these instructions are still difficult there are some at palm.com. best of luck.
