Question about HP D1660 InkJet Printer

I have an HP D1660 Inkjet. I installed it to my Win7 Desktop. If I print anything over 2 pages, it freezes during printing... Just blinks slowly and stays frozen until I reboot then it will finish the page. Checked my spooler and it says it is running. It is shared via a homegroup and does not print from homegrouped PCs either... It actually does nothing at all. I print and it does not even act like there is a print job.

    Downloaded the same driver from HP... latest one... reinstalled everything still the same issue.

This sounds like a driver problem. your driver may be out of date, corrupt or invalid for your operating system.

Try downloading and installing the latest driver for your operating system from the following website-

    Sorry this did not resolve your issue.

    HP supply a diagnostics tool for your printer which I would recommend downloading and running to see if it can identify any conflicts with your hardware setup etc. The tool can be downloaded here-http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

My printer won't print anything after refilling


HP recommends using genuine new hp print cartridges rather than refilling old ones.

If new cartridges are used, remember to take the tape off of the nozzles before installing.

Try to download and run the Print Diagnostic Utility which addresses blank pages printing.

Can you add duplex double sided option to HP d1660


No duplex option is available. The only way to duplex is manual. Meaning you have to print the first side, then turn the page over and re-insert into the printer. Then print the 2nd page onto the back of the first page. The reason this is not an option and generally you do not want to duplex on these machines is that the ink will tend to bleed thru the paper when prining on both sides of a piece of paper. You may have to use a little thincker paper to prevent this.

The on button keeps flashing and when i try to print something it shows it's printing on screen and actually is not printing a thing. if it's something i can only print 1 time i have lost that...


I had the same issue, turned out that one of the cartridges had malfunctioned. Take out both cartridges, close the cover, and see if the light goes steady. If so, reinsert just one cartridge and try again. In my case, it was the color cartridge; when it was removed, the blinking light went steady and I was able to print in black just fine.

First question, are you using the correct driver for your printer on the Win7 platform.

That is the simplest thing to resolve.

K 7100/7103 cartridge light blinking

I have the same problem as Sheillz (Sept.15, 2009)

I have installed a color ink printer and both black and color lights of cartriges are still blinking and I cannot print anything at all. Not even a test page.

Can anybody help me pls?

Not worth it to fix. You can find 1100's on ebay for $30.
