I have a simplicity 6216 mower. When the blades are engaged they back and forth between being fully engaged and losoing power to where they stop completely even though they are engaged.

It seems one of the idler pulleys have siezed up, or perhaps one of the spindles. Un-tension the belt, and try to rotate all of the pulleys by hand to see if any have siezed up or are binding, as those will heat up under operation and stop, but may rotate stiffly when rotated cold, by hand.

HAVE SWITCHED ON PUMP FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON AND IT IS BUZZING BUT NOT TURNING AT ALL. SEEMS SEIZED. PROBABLY INSUFFICIENT WINTERISATION IS THE PROBLEM. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM? DO YOU THINK IT'S...

Hi,
Yes they do sieze up....try to get a pump pliers on the shaft between the pump and the motor and turn it backand forth till it frees up...then turn the pump on... sometimes you can even help the pump get started with the pliers...do not use your fingers!!!

If that does not work, then you will need to take the pump apart and figure out if the motor or the pump is causing the problem and replace accordingly..

Have YTH 150 motor turns not starting.

If I understand, you were mowing and it just stopped running. The motor didn't sieze up, it turns over. Okay and you have spark, and you have gas, have you checked the safety switches. there is one under the seat, the blades, the brake pedal when starting. Make sure that these safety switches are working properly. that is the next step I would take.
