Hello,
All you have to do is to open up the mousepad to clean up dirts that may have accumulate inside the mousepad, because dirts are the most common issues that affect the effectiveness of mousepad, but if otherwise you have to get another to replace the faulty one...

Hope this helps......

My cursor on my HP doesn't work. don't want to use a mouse.

i'm sure that there's a button to lock the trackpad,it's near the panel.you need to press it once again to turn the panel on
I think it's right above the trackpad
or look on your laptops keyboard for a picture like trackpad press it with the function Fn button at the same time
or it should be the hardware
the trackpad cable maybe doesn't installed properly, not locked or something

Laptop mousepad doesn't work correctly

If it is a new Laptop then I'll not suggest you to open it for cleaning because you'll void the warranty period. You can check for the latest touch pad driver and update it once. it may help you.

How to ouse the mouse?

The mouse is used by people to navigate around the operating system like Windows.

There are a number of buttons on the mouse, Left Click, Right Click, Scroll Wheel and Wheel Click.

Your index finger operates the Left Click and you middle finger operates the Right Click and Scroll Wheel.

The mouse, when moved in turn moves whats known as a cursor on the screen, it's that arrow.

Think of the cursor as your pointing finger.

Hope that helps!

I find it useful. A bit like the thumbwheel on an IBM mouse.

Try opening system preferences and looking at the settings for mousepad. If that all appears to be set correctly try resetting the power manager. 1.Shut down the laptop 2.Remove the battery and disconnect from the power 3.Push the start button and wait 5 seconds. 4.Reinstall the battery and reconnect the AC power. 5.Reboot the macbook you should be able to confirm that the power manager has reset when the light on the magsafe adapter turns off briefly as the power manager resets.
If that fails to correct the problem consider replacing the trackpad.
Hope that helps
