Hi.

Open the menu and go to Mode Menu. It will display a four-page menu:

Choose menu Play and find option Protect. Turn Protect OFF.

Protect means Write-protects ( remove protection here) from the currently displayed image. Write-protection locks the image file so you can't accidentally erase it or change the file in any way (except by formatting the memory card). If this does not work, format or replace the memory card. When replacing memory card ensure you choose a compatible one. Many cameras do not accept memory card bigger than 2GB.

If the above does not work, before replacing the card, also try a reset.

Open Setup Menu and do All Reset: This resets all of the camera settings to their defaults.

Do not forget to leave feedback.

Regards.

Ginko.

    Thanks for your response!!

    The procedure is explained :-

    http://www.getflashmemory.info/hack-why-...

You need to make sure SD card should not be locked.

Have you tried some other SD card? Sometimes, a faulty SD card could result in the same error.

    Let me know,once done.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

What does write project mean

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Will turn on but will show no picture

Check the inputs. If you can hear audio that means it's processing but no picture can mean that the lamp is burned out.

How do I turn off the date time function. It can be altered but there appears to be no way to turn it off.

Well ,there's good and bad news.

the usermanual....

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/CANON/POWERSHOT%20A2000%20IS-_E

suggests that you need to set the time and date (How to - page 18), as its stored with each image. There appears no option to turn it off "at the recording stage".

However, on page 118, hidden in the <print settings> menu the option there is the option to turn off (suppress) the date on printing.

So it would suggest that the file is kept separately from the image.
...... Which probably means if you look through the official software you see it, but if you looked at the jpeg through another viewer (such as xp media center, adobe photoshop, photosuite etc ... there are lots) it may not show up on the projected image.

Just a theory, but one worth looking into?

'Write project'

I don't know this message, and am going to guess what can be done. I searched on the Olympus site for such a message, none. Not sure what it means.

I believe this has to do with a setting in the menus.
Turn the camera on, go to the menus and set all to factory default, or something like that such as reset or reset all.

Test the camera after setting and set the menus to what you want.

Write Project?!?!?

If you camera has some internal memory remove your memory card and see if the camera works. If so, check the memory card and see if the little switch is in the "lock" position.

It takes time to turn on

I hold the digital camera with the lens upward when I switch it on, and then the problem doesn''t occur and I can take pictures.
I hope that this workaround will also work for you.

Camera shows an error E30 message

Hi Chittu, This error usually happens when there's problem reading and writing from the Flash memory card (CF). Did you try to pull the memory card before the camera finished writing data? Here's what you should do - try using another memory card. If it works, it means that the original one is damaged. Let me know if this helped. Please rank this post.
